Still got the Panthers. They’re winning so far.

Playoff machine up to 86%

Why do we need NO to lose tonight? We beat them head to head.

If we end the season with the same record, isnt head to head the first tie breaker?

And why would we want SF to win?

SF could lose today and next week vs Rams.

Some weird three way tie thing that if all three teams end up with the same record the Eagles lose out. I think it’s weird we have to root for the 49ers too.

Screw the Niners. Let em lose.

I can see a 3 way tie with NO SF and PHI at end of season.

Apparently the three way tie isn’t good for the Eagles. With that being the case the 49ers are looking awful right now.

Hoping for awful teams like Carolina and / or Houston to help the Eagles is weak.

Eagles will probably need to beat the Cowboys to get in.

Judging by how this is all playing out right now the Packers still need to win, but the Eagles did what they’re supposed to do. These other teams are fighting for playoff spots too. They have their own jobs to do.

49ers win, Vikings lose, we clinch.

Looks like one step closer.

Vikings without cousins tonight.  I like our chances

Based on current results, it does not matter if Minny wins or loses. We are in. I use http://www.espn.com/nfl/playoffs/machine

What get's interesting is next week. If we beat the Boys then we play Tampa, but if we lose, we play LA.

What also get's interesting, with the Dallas loss to Arizona, regardless if they win or lose to Eagles next week, they get Arizona again.

This is assuming that Green Bay beats Vikes.

Can’t take anything for granted, but the Packers should win that one.

If the Vikings lose tonight and we clinch a playoff berth, is it locked into a particular seed (6th or 7th), or can it still change based on week 18 results (ours and other teams)?

Eagles are toast either way against Tampa or LA... Ah well a few more weeks and its time to start thinking about the draft and free agency.

In the case of a 3 way tie at 9-8, I think Eagles and Saints are in based on 3rd tie breaker (CONF Record).

Eagles and Saints finish at 7-5 in CONF games and make playoffs. Niners 6-6 in CONF games get eliminated.

Further, the Eagles win tie breaker against the Saints due to head to head. Eagles are 6th seed.

Will  Dallas plays their Starters?

This is why the Niners winning today helped the Eagles. The Niners had a non-conference game today, which meant that if they lost, the Niners would have to win next week for all 3 teams to end up with the same record, which would have left them all with the same conference record. Since they won today, now the only way for all 3 teams to end up tied is if the Niners lose to the Rams, which drops them to a worse conference record than both the Eagles and Saints (assuming an Eagles loss and Saints win next week, which needs to happen for all 3 to tie).

So, after the results of this week's games, there are 8 possibilities relating to the Niners, Saints, and Eagles (so long as the Vikings lose tonight and are eliminated):

All 3 Win: Niners (10-7) 6th seed, Eagles (10-7) 7th seed, Saints (9-8) eliminated

Saints Lose, Other 2 Win: Niners (10-7) 6th seed, Eagles (10-7) 7th seed, Saints (8-9) eliminated

Niners Lose, Other 2 Win: Eagles (10-7) 6th Seed, Saints (9-8) 7th Seed by virtue of conference record, Niners (9-8) eliminated

Eagles Lose, Other 2 Win: Niners (10-7) 6th Seed, Eagles (9-8) 7th Seed by virtue of head to head, Saints (9-8) eliminated

Saints Win, Other 2 Lose: Eagles (9-8) 6th Seed by conference record and then head to head w/saints, Saints (9-8) 7th Seed, Niners (9-8) eliminated conference record

Niners Win, Other 2 Lose: Niners (10-7) 6th Seed, Eagles (9-8) 7th Seed by virtue of head to head, Saints (9-8) eliminated

Eagles Win, Other 2 Lose: Eagles (10-7) 6th Seed, Niners (9-8) 7th Seed, Saints (8-9) eliminated

All 3 Lose: Niners (9-8) 6th Seed by virtue of head to head, Eagles (9-8) 7th Seed, Saints (8-9) eliminated

So, with a Vikings loss tonight, those are all the remaining possibilities.

Looking at ESPN Standings for Playoffs, I can't figure out why Dallas is listed above Arizona.

Tied at 11-5. Arizona just beat them head to head today. Shouldn't Arizona have tie breaker over Dallas?

Arizona plays Seattle at 4pm next week and should win.

Dallas plays in Philadelphia at 1pm next week. Dallas will probably play their starters.

Question:

Do the Eagles rest their starters if they have already clinched a playoff spot?

Dallas won the NFC East, which takes priority over any wild card.

Because, as of right now, the Cardinals are a wildcard. With a Cardinals win next week, a Rams loss, and a Cowboys win, the Cardinals win the division and leapfrog the Cowboys in the standings, and the Rams fall to the 5th seed as the wildcard.

What are all the scenarios if the Vikings win tonite? 😈

The Vikings have to win tonight and next week to even enter the conversation at 9-8, so let's assume that along with the above scenarios (a Viking loss this week or next week eliminates them from contention). So, lets layer that on top of the above:

All 3 Win: Niners (10-7) 6th seed, Eagles (10-7) 7th seed, Saints (9-8) eliminated, Vikings (9-8) eliminated

Saints Lose, Other 2 Win: Niners (10-7) 6th seed, Eagles (10-7) 7th seed, VIkings (9-8) eliminated, Saints (8-9) eliminated

Niners Lose, Other 2 Win: Eagles (10-7) 6th Seed, Vikings (9-8) 7th Seed by Common Opponents over Saints, Saints (9-8) eliminated by common opponents, Niners (9-8) eliminated by conference record

Eagles Lose, Other 2 Win: Niners (10-7) 6th Seed, Vikings (9-8) 7th Seed by Common Opponents, Eagles (9-8) eliminated, Saints (9-8) eliminated

Saints Win, Other 2 Lose: Vikings (9-8) 6th Seed by Common Opponents, Eagles (9-8) 7th Seed by Head to Head over Saints, Saints (9-8) eliminated, Niners (9-8) eliminated conference record in 4 way tie

Niners Win, Other 2 Lose: Niners (10-7) 6th Seed, Vikings (9-8), 7th Seed by Common Opponents, Eagles (9-8) eliminated, Saints (8-9) eliminated

Eagles Win, Other 2 Lose: Eagles (10-7) 6th Seed, Niners (9-8) 7th Seed, Vikings (9-8) eliminated by head to head w/49ers,  Saints (8-9) eliminated

All 3 Lose: VIkings (9-8) 6th Seed, Eagles (9-8) 7th Seed by Common Opponents, Niners (9-8) eliminated by conference record, Saints (8-9) eliminated

I think that this is all correct, but it's almost my bed time so I may have made a mistake or two. I'm just hoping to wake up tomorrow to see that the Packers won and the Eagles are in...
