Wonder when Brooks comes back and how long he'll be back for

He'll be all 'looks properly healthy and ready to make up for lost time' in camp reports, Howie will restructure him for another 2 dummy years to lower his cap number next season and then he'll tear a bicep, quad and hammy wandering out for the coin toss opening day.

He has a cap number of nearly $19.5M in 2022 - cutting or trading him before June 1 would result in $3.7M in cap savings but also a $15.7M dead money hit (using a post June 1 designation shifts those numbers to $13.5M savings, $6M dead).  The following year he has an $18M cap hit - $8.3M savings and $9.8M dead if cut/traded before June 1 (post June 1 $13.7M savings, $4.3 dead).

Seems they have 2 choices here ... wait until the offseason following the 2022 season to cut him and take the $9.8M cap hit or do so this upcoming offseason using the post June 1 designation where we'd only incur a $6M hit against the cap but then that still pushes a fairly significant dead money hit to the 2023 cap.  I have a feeling they'll decide to hang on to him for one more year.

This really does Hurts, when Hurts hurts.

I see our C Jason Kelce hurt his knee.  Our dependency on Kelce at C is is a recipe for catastrophe if he has an injury.

Is there any update on Brooks and his return?

Well that’s disappointing.

Yeah well it is what it is.  The bigger bummer is losing Driscoll … this is a good year to give the younger dogs reps to expedite their development.  Guessing Herbig gets those reps now.

You’re right Driscoll is big. He was having himself a nice year. Brooks was out so long I was hoping he would have had more positive news by now. I guess we will find out what Herbig is made of. Hope he’s better prepared than he was last week.

Brooks is at the end of his career so I really don't mind not having him available.  It is just a bummer we are paying him so much to not play, but that is one of the consequences of Howie's kicking the can down the road tactics - there really is no way to get around it.  I am much more interested in seeing Driscoll continue to play to see if he is "the guy" moving forward.  When healthy he appears the part ... but obviously availability has been an issue thus far.  Anyway, can't do anything about that right now either ... good opportunity for Herbig here.  FIngers crossed he stays healthy.

It’s pretty thin across the board if any of these guys go down now. Pretty much down to Dillard, Opeta, and Toth. I wonder if one of Howie’s 30 defensive backs can play guard if needed? 😂

Another injury plagued guy. I thought Howie said they were changing the script and were only signing guys who have a history of health? We see where that’s gone. More injuries this year and even drafting a guy coming off of a major injury. Yup Howie learned his lesson 🙄
