I agree with both your points but there’s no denying a trade for Wilson or Watson could pick up steam this offseason.

There’s risk involved for sure but taking a QB early in the draft or rolling with Hurts/Minchew is risky too.

There’s no right or wrong here. We have no influence on what this FO will do. Only thing we can do is discuss it on the EMB.

Feels to me like drafting three players in the first is less risk than throwing those picks at either Watson or Wilson.

My best case scenario is to hedge our bets further by trading down for extra capital 2023 while still making some high picks this draft. Obviously that requires other teams to play ball..

Dillard, Reagor, Smith

No guarantees of course, just less risk.

And I think you listed one bust, one average and one really good player.

Tell you what! Thought about that too.

A possible trade partner could be Detroit. Hear me out; the Lions will likely take Thibodeaux or Hutchinson first overall but still need a QB. They own the Rams pick which will be in the twenties if LA makes the play-offs. They could package that pick and a first in 2023 to jump QB needy teams like the Broncos and Steelers in the early teens. Eagles could be an ideal trade partner if we pick earlier than both Denver and Pittsburgh.

FYI I don’t think you have to trade all your first rounders this year for Wilson. Most likely a 1st in 2022, a first in 2023, Hurts or Minchew, maybe Dillard and maybe a mid round pick in 2023. Something like that. We’d probably still have two first rounders to play with in 2022.

No way in hell I’d want to do that and end up saddling ourselves with a QB who appears to be on the decline and will eat a huge chunk of our cap.

It’s not about what you and I think they should do but what FO might do.

I love Wilson.  loved him coming out of the draft and banged the table for him.  Easily my fave player of the last decade who didn't play for one of my fave teams (Eagles/Ravens).   But major draft capital for him would be a huge mistake.  This type of Qb falls off a cliff like a RB (See:  McNabb/McNair/Steve Young).  He is already a couple years past expiration date.

Completely agree with you. Look Wilson has been a fantastic QB... But the last few years I don't feel Seattle have been as much of a threat... And whilst that's not all on Wilson of course it isn't I think we find ourselves as a team in a similar position.

I think he'd be a great pickup for a team in win now mode and a QB holding them back (the Titans must know by now that Tannehill is a fraud).  A team like that can get him for a couple 1st's, cool.

Yeah he might well be. Even then I'm not convinced but yeah I mean it's hard to argue that he’d take a very talented team forwards.

Well this is I want the Eagles to get, not I think the Eagles will get.

Totally a move I can see the Eagles making. For me it just comes down to cost. 2 high picks, I'd be OK with.

Hard pass at 3 first rounders. Would rather get younger and use our draft capital in that case. Something like Picket, Ojabo, Gardner.

Well yeah of course I wasn’t speaking about what I think the FO will or won’t do … I was saying I sure as hell hope that doesn’t happen.

"As intriguing as Jalen Hurts is, you go out and get one of those guys,” Warner said. "You go out and you get the guy that’s proven in this league that he is a difference maker at that position. I think you have to do that if you feel like you’re in the market to do that.”

Russell Wilson a few years ago sure id be down... Wilson now? No thanks not for what Seattle would want... I would rather us use the 3 firsts to draft 3 cornerstone players and go from there... Stick with Hurts and Minshew for 1 more year and in 2023 go after your future qb... Linderbaum and Treylon Burks and a de in round 1 id be happy

34 in november.  He might be good to great for what.. 2 more years?  Not worth the draft capital.  If he was 30 different story.

100%. Wilson should be the last of the options... Behind sticking with Hurts.

Bump up.

"If I had to guess, I’d say he’ll eventually get moved,” Albert Breer wrote. "And I’d have said the destination was going to be the Saints a month ago. Now that Sean Payton’s gone, let’s put him in the NFC East … to the Eagles.

Saints makes a lot of sense still. Good OL and a good defense. I know the new HC is no guarantee but I don't think there's much difference with Sirianni really.

Saints have huge cap problems. Can’t afford Wilson IMO.
