Usually I would not be a fan of this when you have 3 first rounders but given the QB situation this might be genius. Obviously it depends how the 2022 draft falls as well. But if the eagles can load up to be in the best position to get Bryce Young, I am all for that.
eagle45 Posted December 11, 2021 Posted December 11, 2021 No thank you on a 5'10" dual threat QB from Alabama. 10 1
Bwestbrook36 Posted December 11, 2021 Posted December 11, 2021 It said an AFC executive said they could be looking to trade for more picks lol. First, how would an AFC executive know anything about what they are trying to do and 2nd I doubt this is what they are thinking about with a few games left and in a playoff hunt. 2

time2rock Posted December 11, 2021 Posted December 11, 2021 I posted this in 411 earlier this morning. I do like the idea of trading ONE of them for a 2023 1st rd pick but not a fan of dealing multiple picks. There are some really good prospects in this year’s class on defense that would be a tremendous help. Having 2 1s next year is sufficient to set us up to make a move for a QB if the need is still there. They can always use another pick or a future pick if necessary to package for a QB. 1
UK_EaglesFan89 Posted December 11, 2021 Posted December 11, 2021 I mean... That's hardly a bold prediction or a wild thought is it. Everyone knows Howie likes to wheel and deal. 2
Saltpeter Posted December 11, 2021 Posted December 11, 2021 Something like the Saints-Packers 2018 draft trade would be a great result. Give up a mid-1st for a backend 1st, a 5th, and a 2023 1st. 2
Mike030270 Posted December 11, 2021 Posted December 11, 2021 I think everyone would be surprised if Howie uses all 3 picks and doesn't trade at least 1 of them

The Chiefs traded the 27th overall pick and a 3rd along with the following year’s 1st to move to 10 to take Mahomes.

LacesOut Posted December 11, 2021 Posted December 11, 2021 They will trade 1 of their 1st rounders, I feel confident saying that. But, there are some really good Defensive players in this year's draft. So PLEASE get 1 or 2 of them, Howie.

brkmsn Posted December 11, 2021 Posted December 11, 2021 The Eagles traditionally like linemen. Since our O-line is in pretty good shape with a mix of youth and vets (vets with contracts we don't benefit from moving on from right away), I won't be surprised at all to see us actually try to move up to get a shot at Hutchinson or Thibodeaux. Depending on how things play out and if we move up to get "our guy," I won't be surprised to see us trade away a remaining high pick to add 2023 capital. If we don't trade up, we still need to come away with a DB and a DE with two of our 1st 3 picks.
NOTW Posted December 12, 2021 Posted December 12, 2021 Howie might trade one of his three 1st round picks? 2
CaliEagle Posted December 12, 2021 Posted December 12, 2021 I'm guessing we trade one of the three 1st into 2023. It might be hard to find two trade partners to move two of them unless we just do an even one for one first round swap, but most of the time teams can get an additional midround pick for moving into the next year. But, it might be hard to find two teams that want to do that.

Vlad67 Posted December 12, 2021 Posted December 12, 2021 I don't really care about the trade but if we won't get 2 good defensive players from the 1st round I'd be pissed...not that anyone would care also...

They all want people to read their crap so with all the outlets they have to give the most controversial headline to get attention. 1

Mortimer Posted December 12, 2021 Posted December 12, 2021 EXCLUSIVE!!! - Speculation from un-named TATE poster: "Eagles might or might not trade up or down in upcoming draft!
Talkingbirds Posted December 12, 2021 Posted December 12, 2021 I could se Detroit trading out of 1st to one of the top 10 teams to get Hutchinson. One of Eagles 1st round picks could be part of it. Maybe pick up a 2nd/3rd this year and 2023 1st ?
nipples Posted December 12, 2021 Posted December 12, 2021 No. This roster needs a whole lot of talent. Just take BPA with all three picks. I don’t care if they means you end up with another WR, QB, whatever. Just take the best players.
Sack that QB Posted December 12, 2021 Posted December 12, 2021 This would be smart if they decide not to pursue Watson or Wilson. You have nothing if you don't have a QB. Keep stockpiling picks til you have them in a loaded QB class.
kiwieagle Posted December 13, 2021 Posted December 13, 2021 I am all on board with this. Spend 2 of the 3 first on defence including a pass rusher. The remaining pick should either be a QB this year (Pickett, Corral) or be traded into next year. I don't mind rolling with Hurts for another year (depending on how he finishes up this year) or a short-term option but with where we are in the season and performance to date, I doubt we get into the position where we can be sold on Hurts as the long-term answer. Therefore its prudent to roll over some draft capital if we are rolling with him.
