You think Washington did something wrong?  I mean 96% of all players are vaccinated (so they are doing the right thing there).  It is just really unfortunate that these new variants are causing people to test positive, even if the vaccine is working and they remain asymptomatic or have very mild symptoms.

I believe when the NFL threatened cancelling games that was a ruse to force players to get vaccinated.  Could also be that they thought if players did get vaccinated that they would longer be at risk to test positive and therefore would not have to be concerned with being called out the way they are by some now.

The Eagles had players who have tested positive but they controlled it and limited the outbreak. So yes I do put the blame on the WFT. This is not the Eagles fault and they have been punished.

As said, how I would revise the schedule for Week 16 to account for the moves made this week:

Colts-Cardinals either remains where it is Christmas Night (8:15 PM ET) and becomes a FOX/NFLN game OR is moved up to a 4:30 start on FOX/NFLN
If IND-AZ gets moved up, then Bengals-Ravens is moved from Sunday 1:00 PM on CBS to Christmas Night at 8:15 PM ET on NFLN and CBS.

Dolphins-Saints moves from Monday Night Football to Sunday Night Football while Football Team-Cowboys goes from SNF to MNF

Browns-Packers goes from 4:30 Christmas Day to 1:00 PM MONDAY 12/27 on FOX and NFL Network (NFL can get away with with a 1:00 PM Monday game next week)

Giants-Eagles, Bears-Seahawks, Broncos-Raiders and Rams-Vikings all move from Sunday to EITHER 4:25 PM ET MONDAY 12/27 on CBS OR such window is split between CBS (games at 4:05 PM ET) and FOX (games at 4:25 PM ET)

That's how I remedy what had to happen this week for competitive balance reasons.

As noted earlier, at the time teams were not close to the vaccination rates they are at not AND nobody knew we would see the DELTA variant let alone the Omnicron variant that is wracking havoc on numerous sports leagues worldwide (to where as of this writing, SIX of the 10 Premier League matches scheduled for this weekend had to be postponed and they are now talking about pausing the season after this weekend).  College basketball on Saturday ALONE saw double-digit postponements/cancellations, including forcing CBS to scramble on their planned lineup as both original CBS Sports Classic games had to be scrapped with the two teams who could play playing against each other when they were not scheduled to.  

The NFL had no choice but to adjust once it became known how bad the Omnicron variant really is.

If they came out right before the season to revise it, fine. But the way they handled it was weak.

Kind of shows how gutless Goodell is and how he caters to the owners and player safety doesn’t matter. Why would forcing players to play football in less than a full weeks time be a better option than letting the Skins play with reserve players? This is why they should have increased the player rosters to begin with. Then to move this game to a Tuesday shows the NFL doesn’t care about the fans. It’s a lot easier for people to get have off work on a Sunday, but not quite the same deal to have to prepare for a Tuesday on short notice. 

Just get the vaccine already...when I get home 4 xmas my 1st plan after Xmas day is to get my booster...if you decide not to get the vaccine not my problem, when I cough and sneeze and open the door, and your the next guy to open the door tough crap...don't touch your face and wash your hands lololol

The problem is the NFL was using a metric that was important a year ago but irrelevant now that most players and staff are vaccinated.  They’ve been focused on positive tests when they should be focusing on symptoms.  Lots of guys are walking around with viral levels high enough to pop a positive but thanks to the vaccine, they are healthy and asymptomatic.  So why are they in the protocol?  

Fortunately for next week and beyond, the league has adjusted it’s approach and won’t test vaccinated players at all unless they show symptoms so this roster insanity should be short lived.

clearly the league needs to compensate the eagles for this. Most logical thing would be for Goodell to pick up the tab for all alcohol sales during both games.

My guess is all of this was at the behest of the majority of the owners. Goodell is just doing what’s best for the pockets of the owners. They’re screwing the fans and the players with this move.
