So W. Va. Democrat Joe Manchin went on Fox News Sunday and said he would not vote for BBB, effective killing the bill.

A great development, the bill was fiscally irresponsible and would have stoked inflation.  Still, Nancy Pelosi went on record as saying they'd try to work on this more after the New Year break.

Manchin's vote was motivated in no small part by the extent his constituency relies on the coal industry.  We'll see whether or not renewed negotiations will focus on that.  Let's hope this bill stays dead in its tracks where it belongs.

Yep, Dems upset by this need to show up and vote to try an increase their numbers in the Senate making Manchin irrelevant.

The funny thing is that Manchin might run for president. If he did, Trump and the republicans would paint him as 5 miles to the left of Karl Marx and the end of capitalism as we know it.

True, that would go for any Dem Candidate. None of us are moderate or conservative. All Dems = Liberals.

I’d really like to see how it would play out.

The same way it will play out regardless of who the democratic nominee is. Trump will say it was stolen because reasons, because feelings. Trump supporters will once again use violence to try to change the outcome.

Maybe they'll bomb the senate or burn a few cities down. Not like it hasn't been done before.

Dumbarse.

And what party exactly do you think he would seek the nomination of?  You do realize that he can't get enough votes to win either a primary in either of the two main parties, so your speculation is pure fantasy.

That's rich.  Just out of curiosity, what events caused more damage to property - the George Floyd riots or the Jan. 6 event in D.C.?  Or does violence not count when it's committed by Democrats?  Or are people "triggered" if they mention that uncomfortable fact to the woke element?

Believe it or not, everything does not come down to race.  BBB was largely an enactment of the New Green Deal - a coal killing New Green Deal.  And what is the chief natural resource in W. Va????

I invite you to make an intelligent response, although none can be had by you to that point.

Took less than 10 minutes for someone to drag race into the discussion - see Moss' comment above.

Just out of curiosity…

which event was encouraged by a sitting president?

which event was a bigger threat to democracy?

I don’t support the George Floyd riots and think any participants who damaged property should be prosecuted for it.

Imagine the roles were reversed and BLM stormed the Capitol forcing Congress to evacuate.  That would be all Republicans would ever talk about.

Yeah I’ve been through WVA and was generally tracking the demographics there. Thanks for the stats though. My point is the cockroaches in his party won’t sit idly by and let him do this without finding some way to trash him as a person.

Well, is there a reason why people like you don't talk about the George Floyd riots?  What are you trying to sweep under the rug?
