That's rich.  Just out of curiosity, what events caused more damage to property - the George Floyd riots or the Jan. 6 event in D.C.?  Or does violence not count when it's committed by Democrats?  Or are people "triggered" if they mention that uncomfortable fact to the woke element?

Well, is there a reason why people like you don't talk about the George Floyd riots?  What are you trying to sweep under the rug?

I didn’t vote for the guy who started the George Floyd riots for president.

The United Mine Workers of America (UMWA), which represents West Virginia coal miners, urged Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) on Monday to revisit his opposition to President Biden's Build Back Better plan.

The labor union noted that the bill includes an extension of a fund that provides benefits to coal miners suffering from black lung disease, which expires at the end of the year. The UMWA also touted tax incentives that encourage manufacturers to build facilities in coalfields that would employ thousands of miners who lost their jobs.

"For those and other reasons, we are disappointed that the bill will not pass,” Cecil Roberts, the union’s president, said in a statement. "We urge Senator Manchin to revisit his opposition to this legislation and work with his colleagues to pass something that will help keep coal miners working, and have a meaningful impact on our members, their families, and their communities.”

@Dave Moss, why are you sweeping the 2020 riots under the rug?  How high does the cover-up go?  Answer the question, Dave!

Why aren’t they going after the phone records of BLM?

What a stud. Huge L for Biden who is piling them up at an unprecedented rate.

We talked at length about Trumps lack of leadership when those riots were going on last year during his presidency.

True, that would go for any Dem Candidate. None of us are moderate or conservative. All Dems = Liberals.

From NYT:

As several cities erupted in street protests after the killing of George Floyd, some of them resulting in clashes with the police, Mr. Trump made no appeal for calm. Instead in a series of tweets and comments to reporters on Saturday, he blamed the unrest on Democrats, called on "Liberal Governors and Mayors” to get "MUCH tougher” on the crowds, threatened to intervene with "the unlimited power of our Military” and even suggested his own supporters mount a counterdemonstration.

After protest at White House:

Big crowd, professionally organized, but nobody came close to breaching the fence,” the president wrote on Twitter on Saturday morning. "If they had they would have been greeted with the most vicious dogs, and most ominous weapons, I have ever seen. That’s when people would have been really badly hurt, at least. Many Secret Service agents just waiting for action.”

His suggestion that his own supporters should come to the White House on Saturday foreshadowed the possibility of a clash outside his own doors. "Tonight, I understand, is MAGA NIGHT AT THE WHITE HOUSE???” he wrote on Twitter, using the acronym for his first campaign slogan, "Make America Great Again.”

Asked about the tweet later, he denied encouraging violence by his supporters. "They love African-American people,” he said. "They love black people. MAGA loves the black people.” By evening, however, Mr. Trump’s supporters were not in evidence among the crowds at the White House.

Yeah we definitely pointed out how badly Trump handled those riots that occurred during his presidency. @Procus probably wasn't paying much attention to how badly the Trump administration handled all that went on during that period of time, last year, before Biden won the election and Trump was still POTUS.

Yah, let's make a joke that they were covered up.  That way, it really didn't happen, right???

ok, both the riots in the cities and the dc riots were disgusting and treated differently by the two political parties for political gain.

we F'ng get all of that. can the conversation move along now ?

Oh we know they happened. That's why Trump deserves all the criticism we gave him last year over how poorly he handled the entire thing while all those riots happened during his administration.

Though Biden voiced support for protesters’ right to demonstrate, he has consistently condemned violence, including acts linked to activists from Black Lives Matter and antifa, a political movement of far-left militants who oppose neo-NSDAPs and white supremacists at demonstrations and other events.

Here are five of his statements to that effect last summer.

On May 29, he told CNN that people "have a right to be, in fact, angry and frustrated. And more violence, hurting more people, isn’t going to answer the question."

On May 31, he wrote in a statement on Medium that protesting police brutality is "right and necessary” and "an utterly American response."

"But burning down communities and needless destruction is not,” Biden wrote. "Violence that endangers lives is not. Violence that guts and shutters businesses that serve the community is not.”

On June 2, in a speech in Philadelphia, recorded by ABC News, Biden said there is "no place for violence, no place for looting or destroying property or burning churches or destroying businesses."

"We need to distinguish between legitimate peaceful protest and opportunistic violent destruction," he said.

On July 28, in a speech in Wilmington, Delaware, he echoed that sentiment, per C-SPAN.

"Peaceful protesters should be protected – but arsonists and anarchists should be prosecuted – and local law enforcement can do that," he said.

On Aug. 31, after a man was fatally shot in Portland, Oregon, Biden released a statement on his campaign website with another condemnation of protest-related violence: "The deadly violence we saw overnight in Portland is unacceptable," he said. "Shooting in the streets of a great American city is unacceptable. I condemn this violence unequivocally. I condemn violence of every kind by anyone, whether on the left or the right. And I challenge Donald Trump to do the same."

trump to the jan 6 rioters "We love you, you're very special."

in conclusion...f your false equivalency.

@Procus, you should really just start a new thread to discuss all those riots that happened during Trumps term and talk about all the things he did wrong during those chaotic four years.

Yup

This cover up, is it in the room with you right now?

Also, Trump didn't ask the organized Democrat mobs to stop rioting quickly enough so it's his fault!   Biden supposedly did, but they didn't listen to him.  They would have listened to Trump though.  Holy ish you all are hysterical.  In every sense of the word.

Of welfare state maybe

better they pass nothing and let the market/system find its own legs

Imagine the roles were reversed and BLM stormed the Capitol forcing Congress to evacuate.  That would be all Republicans would ever talk about.

I say this periodically but now seems as good a time as any to repeat it.  Stop arguing with disingenuous liars.  They don't believe the BS they are spouting and by replying and arguing with them, you give them a validation they don't deserve.  Set them to ignore and let them talk to themselves until they go away.  There is absolutely nothing to be gained by interacting with them.
