$5 trillion in debt to allegedly add $60 billion to the economy.  No wonder Democrats think math is racist.

Oh, right, Republicans care about the debt again

I say this periodically but now seems as good a time as any to repeat it.  Stop arguing with disingenuous liars.  They don't believe the BS they are spouting and by replying and arguing with them, you give them a validation they don't deserve.  Set them to ignore and let them talk to themselves until they go away.  There is absolutely nothing to be gained by interacting with them.

This part is actually incorrect if you are like me, and consider "fun" a viable commodity.

Also, Trump didn't ask the organized Democrat mobs to stop rioting quickly enough so it's his fault!   Biden supposedly did, but they didn't listen to him.  They would have listened to Trump though.  Holy ish you all are hysterical.  In every sense of the word.

This definitely tracks.

Yeah Im not crushed this didn't get passed. Especially the Medicare part. I can't even begin to imagine how much Medicare expansion would cost after what happened with Medicare part D.

Imagine the roles were reversed and BLM stormed the Capitol forcing Congress to evacuate.  That would be all Republicans would ever talk about.

BLM riots in DC caused dozens of injuries to secret service members and caused Trump to be evacuated to the White House's bunker when multiple rioters tried to breach the White House. They even burned down a secret service guard shack in an act of violent arson. And no one really cared. In fact, most people just made fun of Trump and #Bunker**** started trending. Do people seriously not remember what happened at the Floyd riots?

The problem is simple -- Biden is stuck. The right move would have been to start with Manchin, get him on board, and then try to strong arm the far left by saying it was Manchin's deal or nothing. But...Bernie Sanders is the Chairman of the Budget Committee in the Senate. Putting aside how completely insane that is (it's like making Donald Trump chair of the Ethics Committee), it meant that he got to craft the first version of the bill at $6 trillion. Now...Biden should have stopped him and told him to be more realistic, so that's on the White House. But they all bet that they could start at $6 trillion, go to ~$2 trillion, and Manchin would feel like he won and cave. They were wrong.

Now, if Biden takes Manchin's deal...watch Sanders and other progressives blow it up. Never forget -- Democrats are children who are incapable of accepting that politics is the art of the possible.

If the Democrats were smart, they'd break BBB into multiple smaller bills, some of which would pass.

But...Democrats aren't smart.

I’d actually forgotten about Trump cowering in the White House’s bunker while people outside were protesting police brutality.

Me to. F'ing hilarious. Bunker Boy lmao. @Procus should add this to the discussion when he starts that thread on all the riots that happened during Trumps term he seems so concerned about as of late.

lmfao see? We don't have to imagine what would happen if the left attacked government officials in DC. The reaction is either indifference or laughter. It happened and the consensus is, it's not a big deal.

It sucks that Secret Service members were injured.  The guard shack getting burned down isn’t a huge deal though.

Agreed. Acts of arson at riots are no biggie.

depends what it is that gets burned down

Oh for sure. There's really not a huge downside to acts of arson, IMO. It almost never turns deadly. It's mostly just a way to look cool at riots. I'm here for it.

I'm certain the answer is no, but any chance any moderate republicans join in on Manchin's plan and burn the progressives again?

I, for one, was very satisfied with how the infrastructure bill ended up being a big "ef-you" to the dem-socs.

it shouldn't depend on anything. arson is arson.

Has Manchin been deemed a "DINO" yet and been excommunicated from the party?

No chance. Infrastructure is something that reasonable GOP Senators could get behind. But the mass social spending in this bill? No way.

Plus, when your competition is setting himself on fire, you don't hand him a bucket of water.

Manchin is not what he seems to be to many.  He is not a R disguised as a D.  It's just that in today's times, if a D is not a de facto socialist, they're deemed not real D's

What percentage of BBB was devoted to infrastructure?
