Reflecting on day two of the draft last Friday it occurred to me that maybe Doug's glee after the Hurts pick was because Howie just screwed Jerry Jones plan. Clearly Doug was ecstatic after the pick was announced. Just a theory but when Atlanta went CB Dallas was up next at 17. The teams picking after them at 18-20 weren't taking a WR. Dallas obviously didn't need one. Lamb would become an Eagle without having to move up and spend assets to get him. Then Jones foiled the plan. Jones screwed Howie by taking Lamb knowing he would scoop up Hurts with his 2nd round pick, sign a Dalton type stop gap, and move on from Dak, who wants to break the bank.

He would have kept Lamb from the Eagles and solved his financial crunch that Dak was creating with his ridiculous demands. You don't have to be a Dallas fan or hater to realize Dak isn't worth the most money at the QB position. In fact he's pretty pedestrian. With all the offensive talent on that team it would have been a good plan to sign a veteran, draft Hurts, and move on.
Then Howie pissed in Jones Wheaties and took Jalen. I really hope I'm right about this. Jerry Jones got a hard on knowing he fked Howie by taking Lamb. I hope he chokes on his latte every time Dalton throws a pick six.

Turns out it may be a win-win for Howie if the three rookie WR's can all play and Hurts adds a new dimension to the offense. Trying to see the logic in this move all week and I believe this makes some sense. Improve the team and screw Dallas in the process.

Say it's so Howie....say it's so.

Worst take I've ever read and that's saying something.

Howie didn't draft Hurts to piss Jerry Jones off.

Time to go back to the drawing board... and maybe destroy it.  Dallas' second round pick was BEFORE the Eagles selected Hurts.  They selected Trevon Diggs.  So... yeah... Hurts was never their plan in Round 2.

I could see them hoping to pick Hurts in the third, but I believe the chatter that Hurts would have been picked around where he was picked even if we hadn't.

I agree.  But clearly, he wasn't Dallas' plan in Round 2.  As he was there, and they chose a different path.

Cowboys didn’t want to draft a QB high. I know people want to protect their feelings of Wentz, but suck it up and accept this fact. The Eagles selected a quarterback very early in this draft. The Cowboys did not.

Yeah my bad. Meant to say the 2nd round.

Dak will get signed and maybe the highest paid for a few months till the next line of QB’s (that are better then Dak and Wentz) get signed and make Dak and Wentz deals look like peanuts.
JJ would not draft a QB with Dak on board. He is healthy and entering his prime.

Jerry has no intentions of drafting Jalen Hurts. The move doesn’t make sense but surely this theory is the worst take.

Yeah... After screwing each other for 2 long days  Eagles and Cowboys were able to create a trade baby in the 3rd day.

The end.

So why didn't Dallass take Hurts if the Eagles picked after the cowpies in the second? Dallass decided to not take a QB and took a CB.

Hey dummy.  THE COWBOYS DRAFTED BEFORE THE EAGLES IN ROUND 2 AND DID NOT SELECT HURTZ.

No team drafts a player to screw another team. Why do people think that's a thing?

Howie was probably just trolling the EMB.

Maybe a bad take, but I like it.

In the week or so prior to the draft, there was a big story out there that the Birds love Lamb.  I think Howie himself put that out there and probably laughed when the Cowgirls took him.  I think they preferred Reagor all the way.

Meanwhile I can't believe NFL.com has Dallas so much higher than the Birds on their Power Rankings.  No damn way.  Dallas may fall behind the Giants or Washington this year.

I'm a huge Reagor fan and hey who knows how it's going to work out but... Based on their college careers Lamb is absolutely the better prospect so I do hope they didn't have Reagor graded higher.

Lamb got shut down in the most important games.

If we start drafting based on what dallas needs or does, we deserve to get f-----.

Dallas drafted before them.

They made a trade to help Dallas later, that doesn't happen if you're trying to screw them over or get revenge for Lamb.

What a stupid take.

Or .... Jerry just couldn't believe Lamb fell into their laps and just took the BPA.  And if Jerry really wanted Hurts, you don't think he would have taken him at 51 instead of Diggs?
