Instead of a new topic every time a sports figure dies, one rolling thread may work.

You should use them before they expire.

RIP John

i was at MSG a few years ago and had the pleasure of walking the back stage corridors of the arena. there were these giant photos of old Knicks, Rangers and Islanders posted throughout. but what i remember the most is the one of him and little Louie Carnesecca posing with their matching sweaters.

No love for clifford Robinson I see

Damn.  Dude was only a few years older than me.  Though, guys near 7' tall tend to have shorter life spans.  I remember watching Real Sports on HBO where on OL from the Saints in his 40s had expected to not wake up each day after going to bed and after the interview they did with him he died 2 weeks later in his sleep.  Tough to be a big man, even if you played professional sports.

That's the thing after you are done playing professional sports you are not going to be in top shape anymore and it's hard on all the organs to keep up with the extra weight you put on after playing.
