Uscg-green Posted May 4, 2020 Posted May 4, 2020 Jason Kelce? I could say Mills was a good pick but not a hidden gold mine. I feel like I'm missing one. Was just pondering because I like our day 3 picks this year. Who is your favorite round 4 and after player ever.
20dawk4life Posted May 4, 2020 Posted May 4, 2020 Beau Allen was good. Jordan Poyer has been real good for the bills not so much for us. Maddox and Sweat could be good player for us but it’s too early to tell. 1 1

Edit: I looked. He works for Bellecheat. Ug.
Uscg-green Posted May 4, 2020 Author Posted May 4, 2020 Kelce has to be our best one ever. Hes got a real shot at the HOF. 3

DeathByEagle Posted May 4, 2020 Posted May 4, 2020 I was their best day 3 pick. At least I felt that way. They didn't think so though, dam ****.
FastFreddie Posted May 4, 2020 Posted May 4, 2020 Only other ones worth a damn in recent memory: Nate Gerry (at least he’s still on the team?) Jalen Mills Beau Allen Dennis Kelly (been starting for the Titans forever) Dion Lewis (also better for other teams) Kurt Coleman (somehow still around) Brent Celek Todd Herremans Trent Cole Raheem Brock (was actually good with the Colts, IIRC) Correll Buckhalter AJ Feeley John Welbourn Ike Reese Koy Detmer Na Brown! I’m done

MediterraneanDiet Posted May 4, 2020 Posted May 4, 2020 Depends how far you want to go back but I'll offer these 3: 1. Wilbert Montgomery 2. Carl Hairston 3. William Thomas 4
FastFreddie Posted May 4, 2020 Posted May 4, 2020 Ok we’ll keep going: Mark McMillian Calvin Williams Seth Joyner Clyde Simmons 3
The Holy Vagabond Posted May 5, 2020 Posted May 5, 2020 Without Vitai (5th round), there’s no parade. 2
UK_EaglesFan89 Posted May 5, 2020 Posted May 5, 2020 Vaitai is a good one. I would say Mills is too... Mills was a 7th rounder, has forged a pretty good career here some how (despite his limitations) and was a starting corner in the SB success.

Over the past 20 years my favorite picks round 4 and later are Kelce, Cole, Celek, and Herremans. We have had quite a few guys that were solid contributors like Big V, Buckhalter, Avant, Coleman, Boykin, etc. but they weren't at the same level at the four mentioned above. 1

Trent Cole was ridiculously good in his prime years. From 07-11 he had 55 sacks which was an average of 11 per season. Only Reggie white and Clyde Simmons have averaged 11 or more sacks in a five year window with the eagles (Clyde Simmons and white had some ridiculous years) 6

I’d put Clyde Simmons up there as well. He’s third in eagles history in sacks with 76. Im guessing a Lot of eagles fans wouldn’t know that. And he had a 19 sack season in 92 2

I feel like older generations who grew up during that era and got to watch him play do. Feel like fans after that time period really aren’t as in touch with Simmons. They know white and Jerome brown (and even Joyner cause he does broadcasting) but Simmons Is really the forgotten one in the younger generation that started watching around or after lurie took over. 1

The closest defense in the last 20 years we’ve had to that was the 2001 team that gave up over 21 points just once in 19 games (and it just happened to be in the nfc title game against the Rams). Even that defense wasn’t close to those ones. younger generations know of the stories Cause we pass it down to them but it was completely different watching it live and in person. 2
matchew88 Posted May 5, 2020 Posted May 5, 2020 Last year, in the 6th round, I dug deep...and picked a real keeper out of my nose. It was gold, I tell ya...

Simmons was really quiet. I don't remember him giving interviews. Brown & White got all the press. Also he was a big guy. Wasn't flashy or explosive around the edge. He just physically dominated his man 1

He was a 5th round pick and the 3rd WR we took in that draft. Wasn't super fast or quick and ended up catching something like 32 TD passes. Finished his career with his hometown Ravens while I was living in Baltimore. Had a great career.
