Playoff line: Eagles +9 at Buccaneers

In a season that turned out to be a lot more interesting than we expected, the Eagles begin their playoff run by getting a bunch of points in Tampa. Yes, the Buccos are the defending champs, playing at home (where they're 7-1 SU, 6-2 ATS) with the greatest player in the history of the game at quarterback.  On the other hand, with their running game, defense and kicking game, the Eagles are built for the playoffs. The Birds are a tempting road doggie dog if they get double digits.

Line: Buccaneers -9 vs Eagles
Total: 49
ML: Bucs -400/Eagles +310

I'd bet on the Eagles if I get + 9. That seems like  a no brainer. They only beat us by 6 in week 6.

That line is way too high. Easy money.

I don’t even think the Eagles will win, but it’ll be a one score game.

I love all the Negativity. Makes me think Eagles actually do have a chance of winning. Throughout the season I Tried to stay positive, about Hurts and the rest of the team...and every time another negative opinion was disproved, made me believe that I am correct. I would take the Eagles with the 9 points ..any-day.

9 beers is hardly a challenge

In the first game the Bucs had 73 plays to the Eagles 47, and the Eagles were 3-10 on 3rd down.    They were down 28-7 in the 3rd quarter when the Bucs took their foot off the gas. That won’t happen in this game.
On a positive note, the Eagles rushed for 100 yards, don’t forget the Bucs have Vita Vea who isn’t a great matchup for Kelce because the dude is a monster.
The Eagles have to play as they have been, no shootout nonsense, ball control through running the ball because Brady is gonna slice up the defense on long drives with short passes, and no more than one turn over for the Eagles, then they’ll have a chance.

Agreed, I think ball control is the only shot we have at winning.

I hope to god this isn't the one game where Gannon tries to be overly aggressively with a bunch of blitz packages...Brady will eat that crap up.

Depends. We talking about 9 beers before the game starts or by the end of it?

Would love to see Lane breakout the dog mask this week.

I don't know where anyone's seeing +9. I'll buy that all day.

The Bucs are 3rd against the run, and one of only 4 teams to give up less than 100 Yards Per Game.  The Eagles had exact 100 yards last game but they only rushed 17 times vs throwing it 26 times.   Now that the offense is just about 60-40 run to pass the spread seems high.  They had Brown last game who was 9-93, Evans only had 2 catches, Godwin was 5-43.   OJ Howard only has 14 catches on the year, 6 were against the Eagles.
This article shows the coverages and concepts used by Dennis Allen who shut out the Bucs, btw Malcolm Jenkins can still play a little bit.

The Saints were the best defense against the run until they faced us. It'll be a tough match up but with our OL I don't think there is an defense who can stop us. But if we get down early we are in trouble.

If I'm Gannon, I am absolutely just doing EXACTLY what the Saints did.......if he doesn't, he should be fired.

Easier said than done though. You have to play to your players strengths and put them in a position to succeed. The Saints have a lot lot more talent on defense than the Eagles.

So then you want our Defensive players knitting?  Because that's about their strengths!   I'd rather go down swinging!  Blitz Brady out the ass, and I mean every play from every angle......

You blitz Brady and he's going to carve you up. Yes they'll need to blitz, they'll need to be clever and creative with it. But they need to win with their front 4 and that's a real problem.

You can’t sit back and let Brady get time. It will be worse than blitzing him. They’re going to have to find a way to get hits on Brady, because like you mentioned they’re not getting there with 4. They really need to play a game of keep away too. Control the TOP, and make Brady think he has to force something in order to win.

Oh I agree with you there. It is a very very difficult challenge. Give him time and he will kill you, blitz him and generally he's going to carve you up. But I heard earlier that he's ranked 26th against the blitz this year?

The weather needs to be watched. Latest is 80% chance of rain/thunderstorms with 30mph winds with higher gusts...  Wouldnt be surprised if the game gets delayed to later in the day.

It would take a virtual hurricane to slide a playoff game.  The whole schedule is built around TV and moving one early game would be like dominoes falling.

Not for nothing, but a bad weather game might be better for the Eagles.

Im not saying a big move. Im thinking 1-3hrs. Florida thunderstorms are no joke.

The Eagles had trouble beating a deflated Washington team a couple of weeks ago.  It's good to get enthused for the playoffs, but methinks you people are setting yourselves up for a letdown.
