January 13, 20224 yr Get rid of it. And I say that knowing that it'll hurt my party more. Let the voting majority run things. If Democrats don't want 51 Republican senators confirming Supreme Court judges then they need to vote. If they don't then they should suffer the consequences.

There's a reason why Republicans want to hold onto it more than Dems. Dems pass a lot more broad legislation than Reps do. Republicans main goal in the minority is to obstruct (much more so than Dems when they're in the minority), and even when in power they don't pass much. They're mainly a party of messaging and power for the sake of power. Dems are more of a party of policy and policy includes a lot more legislation.

January 13, 20224 yr It pisses both sides off......when they're the ones barely in power trying to ram their agenda through, so keep it. Make both sides work together more.
January 13, 20224 yr Author The one thing that tempts me to vote "Dump it" is the possibility to use the removal of the Filibuster as a means to creating policy (voting rights) that would ensure we don't get Trump again in 2024 due to a slow moving coup. However, I'd like to hope we can find another way to ensure that as I believe the Filibuster is inherently a net positive for the country overall and long term.
