Vaccine passports in NY?  Lockdowns in Michigan and California?  Don't live in a bubble - you should be happy your freedoms have not been restricted in this regard - others are not so lucky.

*NYC. And you can ride the subway, leave your home, etc. You just can't go indoors in certain venues without. Sorry, that's probably not the worst public health policy in a city like NYC.

Michigan's lockdowns were not demonstrably different from others, the right wingnuts in the state were just more violent and vocal against it. Stay-at-home orders, temporary orders early in the pandemic, saved thousands of lives - maybe even yours.

You're radicalized and you don't even know it.

I have never been locked down in my home by the Democrats or anybody else. Nor has my freedom of movement been restricted.

You should start paying attention to what the Republicans are ACTUALLY doing instead of sticking your head in the sand.

People have been complaining about this since the pandemic and lockdowns started.  The same Trumpbots in my area doing all the complaining are the same ones I see posting on social media about all their outings.  🤡🌏

Snow...

wouldn't this constitute "locked down in my home"?

(not sarcasm or "gotcha" - just a question)

I was still never locked up in my home. I went out to patronize businesses that were open, including restaurants for takeout.

Stay at home orders were put in place by governors of both parties, and all were temporary in response to a virus spreading rapidly with a long list of unknowns about how to prevent spread or treat the infected.

Acting like these lockdowns are enduring or part of a power grab is false. Whitmer is not pushing for any additional lockdowns, and if she was without good reason yeah I'd be right there criticizing it as overreach.

Procus's thought process that every decision Democrats make is only done so as part of some power grab or because of some nefarious agenda. He literally cannot interpret a policy supported by Democrats in any other way. He's a partisan radical.

I get all that... I just think that regardless of who instituted, or why, whatever you or I think about it, or the history of the person posting it, characterizing a "stay at home order" as people having their movement restricted is not off the mark. That's what a stay at home order is - an official decree that you're not to go here, nor there, etc.

Sure, ok. But nothing I said was wrong: I was not locked down in my home, I was able to move freely.

The contention is that lockdowns were something only Democrats did - that they're "[t]he party that locks innocent people down in their homes and restricts freedom of movement." Those lockdowns weren't limited to Democratic states, and they are years in the rearview mirror. They were a temporary necessity in the face of a pandemic, and Procus arguing that because some Dem govs made the necessary choice doesn't make then "the party of locking innocent people down". That's just ignorant partisan nonsense.

We're finding out more every day about how coordinated the Republicans were in trying to overthrow the presidential election on January 6.

Republican state legislatures across the country have put into place changes that not only make it more difficult for people in urban areas to vote, but also voting THEMSELVES addition authorities to overturn votes that don't go their way.

And your response is "but..but..but.. Democrats are hypocrites!"

Yeah, ok, got it. Democrats (all politicians really) are hypocrites. You got me there.

Mike - where are you - Portland, Washington State?  The politics of the average voter there is off the deep end when compared to the rest of the country.

It's a heavily Democratic state, far from being a swing state like Florida was until a couple of years ago.  When you move to urban areas like Seattle, it's about as far left as you get in this country.

Procus is the one who randomly brought up where downunder lives to change the subject. As usual it’s an L for Mr Ed.

Surprise: you don't.

If I wanted to change the subject, I'd point out what a crappy place Atlanta is to live.
