Use the firsts next year to get a top QB prospect. Honestly if Malik Willis or Corral drops to us it would be hard not to take one. See you know what... I don't get why Howie will not use a first on a LB. I know Dallas lost yesterday but look at their LBs, look at the impact Parsons had. I mean that team had a good record and had a chance at a higher seeding. Look at White against us yesterday. A good LB can absolutely transform a defense.
January 17, 20223 yr For me... 1)figure out if Kelce and Johnson are here for next season Assuming yes 2) swap one of the 1st rds for the 2023 1st plus at least a 3round this year 3) spend every pick on first 3 rounds on D...1 ideally 2 LB, 2 Dline and 1 secondary(dont even know if we would have that many picks)and take Oline in 4th and 5th Assuming no...do the same thing anyway ... Hurts doesn't need another Wr so he can just "NOT see him" when he is open... If we go with "uncle Rico", get him a capable wr in free agency
January 17, 20223 yr It just seems to me that Howie's long-term plan is still to try to replicate the formula for the 2017 Superbowl run. I'm just not sure if that's such a great idea, or even easily replicable. From what I observed, most Superbowl winning teams have at least 1 or 2 HOF players at the skill positions. The 2017 Eagles was like one of the very few exceptions that didn't meet this criteria. They just got very lucky. If there's no HoF level player in next year's draft, then the Eagles should just try to trade backwards for better future picks. There's no guarantee that accumulating a bunch of "ok" players is going to take us to the promised land.

I know he built a SB team but that was a one off and I think that was a lot of luck. I mean he hit on pretty much every move that year and then the team won the SB in the most unlikely of circumstances. I mean how many teams has Howie built that were top seeds? Either 1 or 2? Hell just a team that was in the hunt to be a top 2 seed even if they didn't quite make it. This team over the last what 10 years has a lot of 10-6 years and a lot of back door play off runs. This team hasn't been a legit contender outside of 2017. He doesn't know what he's doing because he can't draft. And if you can't draft you can't add young talent to the roster.

Trade Sanders for whatever pick you can get. Trade a 1st back to get a 2023 1st, draft a QB in 2023. Unless you can get a QB upgrade this offseason. Draft defense high this year. Get QB in 2023. I don't see much wrong with this, although the Cowboys and the Buccs have both shown us what a defense can look like when it has proper quality linebackers and I'd like to see Gannon given a shot with more talent on the back end. Even if he doesn't turn it around you've still made the roster better for the next guy. Reagor should have been left in Florida and told to make his own way home, he offers nothing as a receiver and is actively harming the team as a kick returner, I've never seen a professional so bad at judging the flight of a football.

There's no guarantee of anything. Tom Brady wins the Super Bowl over half the time in the last 7 years. And one of the 3 non Brady wins was the Eagles. With their backup Nick Foles. There's no guarantee that the backup qb will win the Super Bowl, but that's what happened.
January 17, 20223 yr We have questions with coaches as well as players moving forward. We retained Moorehead and have seen the pick of Smith workout and Watkins make huge strides over last year, but highly drafted players like Reagor and JJAW have been huge disappointments. Is anybody happy with our Special Teams? Elliot had a strong season, but our coverage teams were bad, our return teams were bad. When the team needed a spark, it was never coming from special teams. I feel this team really missed Graham all year on defense. Not just as a player, but as a leader. This team lacks player leadership. It's too early for me to list everything I'm feeling about this team right now. I'd just be overreacting.

Much needed improvements need to be made.

I think Gannon is part of the problem. Post-game show on NBC Philly, Seth and Didinger ripped his scheme and play calling. We've complained about him all year. They need both defensive talent in the draft and a new DC.

But if we can't land them, may be forced to go down the draft route again. I love Burks' game. If they aren't addressing QB this year, I 100% want them to flip a pick into this year. I am okay with if they bring back Hurts for another year to see if he improves but they need to hedge their bet on that one. Reasonably probable outcome he is what he is now which isn't good enough to be the long-term answer. I think Hurts will improve a little but I'm not sure he can improve reading defenses, seeing the field, throwing receivers open, that part of being an NFL Quarterback enough in one offseason. If 'Lowie' can't move on from JJAW and Reagor, I certainly don't expect them to move on from Hurts.
January 17, 20223 yr I dunno even with this last good draft I still see so many holes on this team. Graham and Cox have to be replaced, as well as Kelce. Miles who looked like a lock for RB of the future doesn't even seem that way anymore. We need at least 2-3 more years of good drafts to even become a contender.

Eagles have reportedly said the importance they place on finding a franchise QB. I have serious doubts Hurts will fit that but I also think the most likely scenario is he is back for another year. If there is a prospect they love, I think they'll absolutely pull the trigger, if not Hurts was solid enough that you can defer the decision for a year. Age, legal issues and/or cost in terms of picks and cap for the veterans likely keeps them going down that path. Re. JJAW and Raegor - my bet is only one of them is back next year.

Yeah man....any of these positions could be taken in Rd 1 and it wouldn't really be a surprise. QB, RB, OL, DE, DT, LB, CB, S. Basically anything but TE

For all the whining about Jalen Hurts, who took the Eagles from a 4 win to a 9 win team, who has taken the Eagles to the playoffs 100% of the time. He didn't help take them to the playoffs last season. He even lost several games last season. He contributed to 4 losses and 1 win in 2020. I think that calls the 100% into question.

January 17, 20223 yr We need #2 and #3 wide receivers. One can be a veteran free agent, but I absolutely believe we will need to draft yet another one. Quez Watkins is a #4. Reagor and JJAW need to go. Look for Kelce's replacement in the draft. Draft a safety and a cornerback. Draft a DE and LB. Sign a DE and LB in free agency. Re-sign Stephen Nelson. A rookie CB--if we draft one--probably won't be ready.
