May 7, 20205 yr FWIW, I received an e-mail this morning from the Redskins indicating they'd formally release their schedule at 7 PM ET, an hour before the overall league announcement. (I ended up on the Redskins e-mail list through buying tickets directly from the team when the Eagles play in Raljon Landover, MD. I find some of their e-mails saying one can become a Redskins season ticket holder amusing in light of the fact the Redskins supposedly had a season ticket waiting list in the tens of thousands for many, many years until a couple seasons ago.)

I would not be surprised if the league front loads the schedule with division games in case the regular season needs to be shortened. Or possibly pushed back to January, especially if California bars sporting events from taking place in-state until then as some think may happen.

Haha not sure what to believe guess we have to wait and see! I can see Weeks 1-4 being that in case those become Weeks 14-17 if the NFL season gets pushed back to an October start.

Also as I heard on 98.7 ESPN in New York, that actually could be SNF. This if so likely means MLB informed the NFL that if MLB does have a season, CBP would be needed on 9/13 for a Phillies home game.

May 8, 20205 yr Another thing to consider with the schedule: There is a good chance that college football is delayed until January or even February as some states may not be able to field teams until late this year and especially with California possibly not allowed to have ANY sporting events AT ALL until January 2021 (this is also one reason the NBA is looking at a Christmas Day start for next season though that may become permanent anyway for other reasons). If conferences tried to go earlier without everyone, I can see the Attorney Generals in the states where such teams have to wait threaten lawsuits against the NCAA and the conferences unless they wait until ALL schools can go. That would mean some games listed for Sunday could be moved to Saturday afternoon or night if there is no college football, possibly with games at 1:00, 4:30 and 8:15 PM if so.
May 8, 20205 yr If the league were to move Weeks 1 through 4 to the back of the schedule, the Eagles would then face the Redskins in back to back weeks. Furthermore, if all of the Week 3 games were to be played during the bye weeks (all the games in Week 3 feature teams with the same bye week so they can each be moved into that week), the Eagles would face the Rams in Week 9, giving them four straight home games. That would be unprecedented (in the last fifty years anyway).
May 8, 20205 yr One other possibility the NFL may have baked into the schedule: With the possibility the three remaining California teams (Rams, Chargers and 49ers) may not be able to play home games in California at all (except for Week 17) if the season is played on time due to the state not allowing ANY sporting events in California until January. it's possible we could have a situation where the NFL actually could have the three California teams join the Raiders in Vegas for the 2020 season and the Raiders new stadium suddenly having to play host to FOUR NFL teams at the same time. This could if it happen on most weekends have one game in Vegas on Saturday or Monday and in two instances (Weeks 4 and 14) have games in Vegas on Saturday, Sunday and Monday (Week 14 actually has all four at home but the Rams game is on Thursday). The Raiders move to Vegas if that happened could be a savior for the NFL if that were to happen.

May 12, 20205 yr Author Las Vegas might be one site for potential games if California still won't allow sporting events in the fall. It won't be the only one. LINK Quote The 49ers and Cardinals could share the Arizona venue with no conflicts at all. The Chargers and Raiders could share the new Las Vegas Stadium with only one potential conflict. Ditto for the Rams and the Cowboys.
