Did they?

Needs more context.  Plenty of library books feature characters that talk about their sex lives.

That sounds awful?  Gay characters :o and passages about sex. There are passages about sex in thousands of library books.  That tells you almost nothing.

Still haven't addressed why you got fooled into thinking Michelle Obama's book got pulled, huh? lol lmfao

I was wondering if they were going to do that.  But that seems to be something a company would bring in if they felt there were issues.  We're already pretty diverse and promote POC and women into leadership roles, celebrate Pride month, Hispanic Heritage month, Black History month, etc.  Overall already were celebrating D&I.  The C Suite is all white males except 1 white woman though so that's where there's opportunity which isn't uncommon.

We have quarterly surveys and part of the prep for the new council and initiatives they included questions about diversity, if employees have experienced discrimination, etc and nothing really came out of that other than desire for more diversity in leadership.

  No one got fooled.  Give it time.  Republicans have been very clear about what their end goal is with this censorship push.

The big Texas ban included plenty of books on their review list that have nothing to do with gay stuff.  Here's the full list.

That's the full list, @Kz!. Meaning he didn't edit anything out of it.

Wow, a lot of literary classics in there.

I don't really care if it isn't all LGBTQ eroticism on the list, really. If kids want to pursue "This Book is Gay" and "Stamped from the beginning: the definitive history of racist ideas in America" on their own time, they can go ahead and do it. Our tax dollars shouldn't be funding it.

Actually quite a few of these are critically acclaimed books. 'Out of Darkness' is one of the best YA books of all time.

Most of these parents have not read any of these books. They just see the word Gay or Race in them and want them banned without knowing any context about it at all.

I think our tax dollars should absolutely fund books that talk about different people and different situations. Books are meant to open up people's view on the world and place them in situations that they may never have been in, or maybe make them not feel so alone in the world. We should not be so closed off as a society.

While they should not have books that would have passages in it that would make an editor at Hustler blush, we should not be banning any books just because they talk about race, religion or LGBTQ.

Then those kids can go grab a copy outside of the public school library. It honestly isn't that hard. Also lol at you reading young adult books that were written in 2015.

Quote

On September 15, 2021, the book was challenged at a Lake Travis Independent School District board meeting in Austin, Texas, by a parent who interrupted a board meeting to request that the book be removed from the libraries of the district’s two middle schools due to sexually explicit content including anal sex. The following day, a district spokesperson told KXAN the book was removed from its two middle schools, Hudson Bend Middle School and Bee Cave Middle School, and that its contents would be reviewed with respect to board policy.[7]

Oh no, middle schoolers can't read a book that has sexually explicit anal sex content in their school's library. This means that the republicans are NSDAPs!

I foresee down the road that gender and sex will be forced to be considered the same.  For instance, We will be told that transgender women are biological women just like actual biological women.  You won't be able to point out that a transgender woman is a biological man.

Probably about as many as who predicted that a bunch of d-bags with Oakleys and truck nuts would ruin this flag

Ahh the ole whatabouters

The Vikings faithful will be afraid to criticize their new GM Kwesi Adofo-Mensah who got fleeced by the Lions of all teams by trading down from 12 overall for a mere pittance, while leaving blue chip talent on the board.  It will be glorious as Kwesi, through his bumbling, single handedly dismantles the Minnesota roster, transforming the team into this era's version of the Jets and Jaguars.  All the while, the woke idiots in Minneapolis will sit idly by watching their team crash and burn (much like their city), yet will be too PC to actually say a bad word about the young GM because of his skin color.

Yeah, football fans are well known for their patience with a bad GM.

Also, football fans are like, the wokest of the woke.

Haha, nahh, I just saw his post and this came to mind. I loved that flag as a kid, but now you can't display it without people thinking you're a right-wing nutbag.

you really seem to have an unhealthy obsession with the GM of a football team you claim not to be a fan of.

extremely unhealthy - the genesis of the post was an article where the author told the fans they were allowed to criticize him

It’s okay to criticize Kwesi’s draft

Viking fans are just a special kind of stupid.  I was laughed at when responding to a message suggesting that the Vikes shouldn't expect the NFCCG to be a picnic.  It was glorious.

I bet greater acceptance of people who identify as another species (as opposed to human) will become a thing.  People who identify as another species, or feel like another species trapped in a human body, will be legitimized.

I'm still waiting for Abra to tell us he really is one of the lizard people.
