I don’t really care about collegiate swimming, but I saw Lia won the national championship in the 500 freestyle. Good for her I guess.
March 20, 20223 yr If this takes all the fun out of watching competitive women’s swimming, I’m going to be livid.

Compete with people who were born with the same reproductive organs as you.
March 20, 20223 yr If women have a real issue with it then leave the space. Refuse to participate. I'd back it.

I understand that people can have gender dysphoria - and it must be a terrible thing to live with. If someone is more comfortable living as a woman then I’m not going to try to stop them. What I find so objectionable is that in efforts to accept that people suffer with this condition of dysphoria we are minimizing the accomplishments of women who were born female and have led their lives having those experiences and challenges. What does it mean to be a woman - I feel like some in the trans community or those that support them want to dilute or diminish it's meaning because no amount of wearing women’s clothes and makeup is going to create that experience or truth for them so let’s redefine what it is so it includes anyone who wants to be. Would this be acceptable if it was race related? I as a white person can’t ever have the experience of growing up as black - would it be justified to redefine what it means to be black so that I can be accepted as such? Would everyone who objects to that be considered a bigot? I feel like this constant push to label anyone who objects as a bad person is a nasty tactic forcing society to bend reality to the will of a few. If being a woman isn’t something that is clearly defined then how do you know you want to be one so bad or should have been born as one? The fact is that if you are trans you weren’t born as a woman and that very fact should preclude you from taking part in things that are specifically for girls who were. Like swimming competitions. Or woman of the year.

By the way, here are the resumes of the biological women on the right: Emma Weyant, 2nd place (white cap): Silver medalist in the 400 IM in the 2020 Olympics; was less than .7 from gold medal in race Erica Sullivan, 3rd place (cowboy hat): Silver medalist in the 1500 Free in the 2020 Olympics; only lost to Katie Ledecky in race, and less than 7 seconds from gold medal in race Brooke Forde, 4th place (no headgear): Silver medalist in 800 Free Relay at 2020 Olympics; only swam in prelims at Olympics, as a backup for top 4 200 Free individual finishers from Olympic Trials that earned spots on the relay in finals at the Olympics So Lia Thomas was beating Olympic medalists at NCAAs and could represent the US in the 2024 Olympics if USA Swimming rules allow for competing as a woman
March 21, 20223 yr Finally someone in the sport with the balls to call out this charade: Well, another one with balls. You know what I mean.
March 21, 20223 yr Women's rugby too? This has gone too far. What are we supposed to watch on the weekends?
March 21, 20223 yr This shouldn't be complicated. You can be trans.. knock yourself out. You can be trans and compete in sports... knock yourself out. However, if your were born with a P you should compete against men.

March 21, 20223 yr There are a few things about the bathroom issue that men need to understand and why it is an issue especially for young women and girls - we aren’t conditioned to use the toilet in front of others. A lot of women won’t even poop in a public restroom. We are conditioned to feel really private about bathroom spaces because we go through periods and body changes that cause unwanted attention, commentary and even aggression from men. We are taught to be protective of our bodies and modesty is often preached from the standpoint of safety. Why does this person who lived their entire life as a male not have compassion for women who feel distressed by his presence? If you want to be a woman and relate to them maybe try starting with that.

I’m not really sure how bathroom laws such as the one that was in effect in North Carolina when I lived there are enforceable
March 21, 20223 yr Over\Under on how long before we have the same conversation about a 6' 4", 225 lbs male felon "identifying" as female so he goes to women's prison?
March 21, 20223 yr 17 minutes ago, Gannan said: I’m not really sure how bathroom laws such as the one that was in effect in North Carolina when I lived there are enforceable My post wasn’t even about law enforcement - I don’t know how you can enforce that at least on a regular basis. My point was about the very idea that it makes women uncomfortable- and that some trans-activists don’t bother understanding perfectly legitimate objections or why it makes women uncomfortable. Because they don’t have the experience of actually being born female and all that entails growing up. Attempts at minimizing that experience is once again brushing off a woman’s point of view as unimportant.
