Posted February 1, 20223 yr I saw an article on Garcia just now and got to thinking what are your top 10 games played by an Eagles QB and then maybe like a top 25 for people who have more time. Seems like it might be a good way to look at the ‘best qb in Eagles history’ question.
February 1, 20223 yr #1 - Nick Foles in SB LII. #2 - Nick Foles in the 2018 (2017 Season) NFCCG vs the ViQueens (FOLES! CLAP! FOLES! CLAP!). The rest of you can finish the list.

In my lifetime and off the top of my head: the 2 epic games by Nick, Vick vs Washington in 2010, Vick v New York in 2010, McNabb v. Chicago in 2001, McNabb v. Arizona in 2002, Wentz v. Washington in 2017, Nick v. Oakland. Sorry, wasn’t following football during the Randall era.

Yeah there probably aren’t many people that can talk fairly about all eras
February 1, 20223 yr @downundermike If we invite RTK to this thread he'd probably be like: Hurts 1st Half vs the Denver Broncos.

February 1, 20223 yr There was the Koy Detmer game in SF where we crushed them 37-20 or something like that. I remember I was there and hearing 49er fans asking "Koy who?"

And would have won the super bowl had they let Koy play the whole championship game against the Panthers to advance. Wasn't it later found out that Koy faked the injury against the niners?

February 1, 20223 yr Can't see anything topping LII given how great Foles played start to finish, on top of the fact that it was a Super Bowl. His NFCCG was great too, although the offense didn't really start getting on track until the 2nd quarter. I hate repeating games already mentioned, but Foles vs Oakland and Vick vs the Redskins 2010 would be up there as well. To list one not yet mentioned, I thought Wentz was playing terrific against the Rams in 2017 up until the knee injury took him out.

February 1, 20223 yr The 2 Foles games obviously. The Vick Monday night massacre game would likely be #3 for me.

Still knew something happened with a fake injury lol [Koy] came up to me like a couple days before that day and was like ‘hey, they want me to go on injured reserve so they can keep me around, what do you think?' And I’m like, ‘well, if they’re going to keep you around, you know I wouldn’t not do it.’ So that day before practice he comes up and he’s like ‘okay, today’s the day they told me.’ "So, we’re kind of in team period at the end of practice and they’re like ‘alright, Koy, you’re in!’ And so, he kind of goes in, runs a play, runs another play and then he looks at me and gives me this wink as he’s stepping in to call the play. And so I’m like, trying not to laugh cause I’m like, how is this gonna go down, you know? It’s a running play. He hands off and and as he’s coming out after the hand off to carry out his bootleg fake, he goes down and rolls around and grabs his knee. "And oh man, you know, the whole practice kinda stops like, ‘what happened?’ And guys were coming up to me and, ‘oh man is this the same knee he hurt at Colorado?’ And I’m like ‘yeah I think so I don’t know, maybe he just you know twisted a little or something.’ So they end up bringing the cart out and they cart him off the field.

Even if you did it's difficult to take Nick's 3 epic games and Vicks 2 epic games out and that's half the list lol I'd put Cards 2017 just because it was the first time an Eagles QB threw 3TDs in the 1st quarter of a game There's also the Snowbowl. So that's 4 games with Nick

The Oakland defense was pathetic that day though. Tripping over themselves blowing coverage all day, leaving freaking Cooper open all day. I'll put them on equal ground, the Oakland defense was as bad as Foles was good that day. That is why I was never all that impressed with that game.

Yup, that was his rookie year and they wanted the roster spot.

Then the pass down the middle to the racist WR in the third quarter, I forget his name, that was the only real big passing play all day.

February 1, 20223 yr Top 10 games by QB, there is really a strong bias to post-2000 games because before then, passing wasn't what it has become. But I found 3 from the past that I'd elevate. The 1960s with VanBrocklin, even the 1970s and early 1980s with Jaworski was just such a different era, it can't be compared to the era after the 5 yard illegal contact rule was implemented. Nick Foles: Super Bowl LII, obviously. 2017 season NFC CG. 7 TD game against the Raiders in 2013. Carson Wentz: 2017 MNF Washingteam 2017 LA Rams game where he was injured 4 TDs in that game, including one with a torn ACL/LCL Donovan McNabb: 2004 MNF against Dallas - 14 second scramble game. 2002 Arizona Cardinals game on broken ankle. Rodney Peete: 1995 Wild Card playoff game against the Detroit Lions Randall Cunningham: 1989 Washingteam - right after signing his contract extension 1990 New England 4 TD passes, 1 more rushing. Put them in whatever order you wish.
