Just wondering if I picked the right user name.  Let’s say you need one point to win a game.  1 second left in the game.

Whats the yardage where you say I’m better off with a Hail Mary or other play for a touchdown versus going for a field goal?

Not really, probably 62 or so, but I can’t pass up an opportunity to say 69.

Another question.  Suppose circumstances were you have a great offense but they have a great defense, but your defense is horrible .  Only time for one more possession each team.  You got the ball midway inside your side of the field.

You think to yourself ‘I’d let the other team have the ball right here if they’d agree to let me have a free FG attempt from a negotiated distance.  They are down six.’

Would it be illegal under the rules to propose this out loud to the opposing coach?  If no, would they both be permitted to mutually waive the clock rules and play only one more possession each?

I would put it at about 66 yards.

I can’t say I’m aware of a specific rule that prohibits direct communication between coaches during the game, but I would imagine it’s not allowed if I had to take an educated guess.
