Genuine question, politics aside.....

Does anybody actually find him funny?

I didn't agree with a lot of Jon Stewart's views, but still found him genuine and funny.

Trevor Noah is just.... Bad....

I watched his stand up specials on Netflix. I think he had two and he was kinda up and down for me. Funny-nothing-funny-nothing.

Other than that I have only seen his tweet when others have posted them.

I haven’t watched the daily show since he took over and never seen his standup.  My only exposure are the commercials he does for the daily show.

Those 20 second bits are really bad and probably the reason I don’t watch the show. His humor seems, for lack of a better word, childish.

Not funny and and a known joke stealer from podcasts I listened to with comedians.

Exactly..... I've had The Office on in the background while I've been cleaning and they keep playing Daily Show commercials.

Pure cringe.

I remember reading an article from early 2016 saying that his ratings were terrible and the network was debating pulling the plug.  Obviously, Trump got him ratings, but now it appears that ratings are in the toilet again. (Down over 40%)

I think the only thing that saved him was the pandemic and him basically being able to do his show on the cheap via Webcam for over a year...... I can't see them paying him much longer

2016:

Late 2021:

https://www.projectcasting.com/blog/news/the-daily-show-ratings-drop/#:~:text=According to a report%2C ratings,Noah's appeal is to millennials.

"Although a ratings falloff from Stewart was all but guaranteed, a 40 percent drop for Noah is steep. Comedy Central has professed to be unconcerned because Noah’s appeal is to millennials. However, he is down about 40 percent among the 18-to-34 audience as well, and surprisingly the show’s median age has gone up, from 45.1 to 47.4.”

He has some good writers, and some if his correspondents are still really good (Roy Wood Jr, Klepper). But yeah overall I think he's a dud. Anybody was going to have a hard time following Stewart but his delivery is just straight up bad. It's a shame I used to love that show. Haven't watched it in years now.

This is exactly what I was going to say. I don't watch him but see those commercials (can't even remember where). My only thought is "Wow, this is supposed to make us want to watch him?" I've never laughed once at those. And that's pretty bad because sometimes he's bashing Trump. If he just said "Orange man bad" I'd be ROFL.

He's a likable guy especially considering his history, but he's not very good as a host. No idea about his stand-up, never was curious enough to look it up.

Stewart set a high bar, but I'm surprised they couldn't find someone better.

The radio spots I have heard are brutal.

His standup us better than he is as a host but still is pretty mediocre. At least the one special I watched. He grew up a mixed race kid in south Africa during Apartheid so he had some stories at least.

I guess I'm in the minority that enjoys his brand of humor. I'd even go so far as to say I find him funnier than Jon Stewart and Bill Maher. John Oliver is head and shoulders above all of them though.

Oliver should have been the host, they really dropped the ball on that one

His non political stand up is pretty good. He’s gone too far into seeing racism that isn’t there for me though on the daily show.

Roy and Kleeper are hilarious on the daily show. Some of Roy’s standup that I’ve seen is decent but not for the entire special usually. But both of them talking to morons on the street or doing skits on the daily show usually have me laughing.

It'll never happen, but I'd love to see Colin Quinn get another show.

Tough Crowd was amazing

Trevor Noah isn’t that interesting to me, but I would guess young people like him just like white men in their 40s like Joe Rogan.

As a white man in his 40s, I have no use for Joe Rogan

I like Roy's standup. Something about his delivery and cadence is hilarious to me for stone reason. Never seen Klepper in any other context but he is an absolute master of interviewing idiots. It's the one part of the show I still watch sometimes.

I've never been a huge Maher fan from a pure comedic POV but Stewart?  That's downright blasphemous.

Love Oliver but I will recognize that he has an unfair advantage with a week between shows and an HBO budget.  Gotta give Stewart/Noah credit for degree of difficulty.

Except, that's not the case.....

Ratings for that demo are down and the median viewer age has increased to 47
