March 28, 20223 yr No problem on signing Scot. But where is the physical/power RB the team needs? Howard is the one, though not sure if he is healthy enough to fill that role the whole season. Will is be a FA or thru the draft?

When you have a dominant oline like the Eagles have, and a running QB who puts up a lot of yards, you have that big and fast RB who can get the yards predictably well, big holes in the lines + tough to tackle should move thre chains. Zander Horvath Purdue is having his pro day today. He's one of the few RB/FBs who weights more than 230. Watching his youtube, he's hard to tackle, 232 pounds. Don't know how fast he is, but he could be a good one if he was fast enough. Also, backfield blocking. Troy Andersen Montana State, played 2 full or part seasons at running back, 1 full season at QB, 1full season at OLB, 1 full season at ILB. I would like to see how he does at running back. 6'3 243 4.42. 1,400+ yards and 6.9 yards per carry as a QB. On defense, he can rush the passer, on offense he can be running back or full back. He's now at 10/10 RAS. Leo Chenal / John Chenal Leo was LB at Wisconsin, John was FB at Wisconsin. In High School, I believe that both played offense and defense. Both put up huge numbers on the ground, Leo was Gatorade player of the year. Leo has 9.99 RAS, He ran 4.53 at 250. John has a FB ras of 9.29, but he's not as fast as Leo, but his 10 split of 1.57 is solid. Both are strong, good bench and jumps. Leo is a day 2 pick - Big 10 Linebacker of the year - and John is a day 3 or udfa.

When they signed Blount and traded for Ajayi that was well after the draft. Most of us were begging for them to sign or draft someone much earlier than they did, but it obviously worked out really well. I think this will be another case of us just needing to be a little patient.

They led the NFL in rushing yards, YPC and TDs. They were 5th in the league in converting on 3rd down. I don't think they should expect Howard to provide much next year as his career winds down. Gainwell will be in his 2nd year, and we'll see how much Sanders gets used. I'd like to see a RB added mid to late rounds, perhaps with one of those extra 5th round picks. The passing offense and QB play are where they ranked among lower in the league, I wouldn't worry about the rushing offense.

Yes, Gainwell got that done. But I wouldn’t count on that moving forward.

It’s hard to deny the fact that when they actually brought in big backs they won the Super Bowl. This year they ran a lot with a power back and they went to the playoffs. Hopefully they find a more durable option than Howard.
April 8, 20223 yr One of the things that makes this team different than the average team or the 2017 team is that Hurts is one of the runners. He's not small for a runner and has tremendous leg strength. So I'd say the traditional "need" for a big back on this roster isn't as high as some people might think.

I’m all about adding strength to strength. Adding a ‘bruiser’ would only add to our options in the run game there especially with a running QB.

Hurts' contribution on runs pads the team running stats. If you take his yards out, the RBs as a group doesn't have that good a stats. Hurts will continue to take off running, hopefully he learns to read better and passes more. The RBs need to pick up more yards, with or without the help of a more power/physical runner.

Wasn't Howard actually available quite a lot last year but they just kept him stashed on the PS until week 10? He put up 406 yards in 7 games at 4.7 a pop, which isn't bad as a third or 4th Option.

That could be said about HB1 as well.

I like Sanders but he's either got 1 more left and leaves in free agency or could even be trade bait. I like Gainwell and Scott is really good for the role player he is. So I'd like to see them draft a RB this year. They have 3 picks in the 5th round which seems a good spot to take a RB.
April 8, 20223 yr So I was able to obtain a PS1 emulator from my flatmate and I fired up the old Madden 2k. After some trial and error... and a a hell of a good "rogering"... I was able to obtain one Jarome Bettis for the following four American football players and several draught picks: Darnell Autry, John Welbourn, Barry Gardner, Damon Moore Call me on the telly, Howie. I know what I'm doing! Cheers

April 10, 20223 yr Interesting that the hypotenuse is the longest side of a right triangle, yet @hputenis is the shortest tallywacker in any given locker room - including those adjacent to Penn State swimming facilities.
