So today is my wedding anniversary and we are going a little nutty on the food.  40yr old Rioja, prime uber cut of Angus sirloin on the grill, chanterelles/cream/springonion sauce, some asparagus on the side, and a baked potato.  I'm the chef so who knows maybe I'll get lucky :P

Congrats on the anniversary.. throw in some white claws and you'll definitely get laid.

Maybe not by your wife though.

Americans Increasingly Believe Violence is Justified if the Other Side Wins

These numbers are even higher among the most ideological partisans. Of Democrats who identify as "very liberal,” 26 percent said there would be "a great deal” of justification for violence if their candidate loses the presidency compared to 7 percent of those identifying as simply "liberal.” Of Republicans who identify as "very conservative,” 16 percent said they believe there would be "a great deal” of justification for violence if the GOP candidate loses compared to 7 percent of those identifying as simply "conservative.” This means the ideological extremes of each party are two to four times more apt to see violence as justified than their party’s mainstream members.

Oh man, I can't wait to start a "trumpbots inciting violence" thread

That thread already exists. Not sure what point you think you were making

I missed that. Didn't read the full thread title, as I generally don't read through those two threads.

Putting aside current politics and who you like and don’t like this is kind of an interesting point

why should members of the legislative branch be in line for an executive office before members the President has chosen

Because they're elected officials?

Correct.  Cabinet members are supposed to advise the President, not represent the American people.

Just sick. Glad he was caught

Just sitting here thinking as I eat my dinner, I wonder how the country would turn out if only the eldest relative in a family were allowed to vote in an election

in other words you can’t vote if you have living parents or grandparents or older siblings

Yeah that is idiotic IMO

The Pope GOAT is at it again

Man jumps nine stories without parachute to raise money for mental health charities... 😬

So that sex cult guy got life in prison.  Cool.  But this jumped out at me.

One of those victims was the 15-year-old girl at the center of the sexual exploitation of a child charge that Raniere was convicted of. A redacted copy of her victim impact statement was posted to the court record, in which she said she was 15 and he was 45 when they began to have sex, and that he took nude photos of her.
"While he hid our sexual relationship from others, he explained it to me by telling me that I was very mature for my age. And I know now that it was false -- I was a child," her victim impact statement read. "He used my innocence to do whatever he wanted with me -- not just sexually but also psychologically."
CNN is not reporting the name of the girl, who is now an adult.
The girl's father was among those who submitted letters in support of Raniere ahead of his sentencing.

I had an idea for a constitutional amendment.  As a percentage of GDP, Congress may not levy taxes in excess of the value of its own approval rating
