So we’re still gonna see Philly LBs chasing after the opposing teams and making bad choices in the red zone

Corners and safeties don't win games, controlling the line of scrimmage does.  It's not a sexy pick, but when both lines are strong we roll.

And people had the same complaints when we picked him. And then he became an important player for us as a rookie.

We were told last year that the transition plan was Dickerson.

That was the media's line, but never the FO.  And there were analysts who felt that Dickerson--at 6'6--was better suited at guard.  That seems to have been a good read.

Seumalo was the heir apparent, but he has been injured so many times, and you really need consistency at the center position--more so than any other position other than qb and lt on the offense.

This feels like the same old Eagles though. This team has immediate needs meanwhile they’re using high round picks for backups. Andre Dillard was this guy like three years ago and still hasn’t become a starter.

I’m not sure there were impact linebackers, safeties, or corners that were available and capable of starting right away. Plenty of free agents out there.

So if Jurgens has to step in at RG this year and plays well, they draft a center again next year?

I think there is a chance White + Taylor + Reddick looks better. And Edwards is a decent backup.

Safe picks on the Oline or Dline I’ll never dispute.

Would like to see him compete at a guard spot this year in case Kelce sticks around for awhile.

Because we need defense. It's an actual need.

I get that. I wanted Dean there but I truly think the Eagles think this isn't a Superbowl year for them. I think it is a year to evaluate and stack elite talent for the future. They potentially landed two cornerstone players on the Oline and Dline. I like the strategy here. Kelce loved the pick.

Looks like Dickerson won't replace Kelce and stay at Guard.

Davis might not start either just rotate in. Cam might not start for 2 years.

Meanwhile they have holes at corner & safety. We'll see how this goes.

There  are ton of veteran corners on the FA market.

If they were any good they wouldn’t still be unemployed.

There are worse problems to have. 😄

Just to repeat, this was the pick Kelce wanted so he can groom his replacement.  Apparently he lost it when the pick was announced.

Maybe he is a special talent, and Kelce knows it. A talent that won't be in next year's draft. Kelce is done after this year. If that's the case, so be it.

They draft a guard. Jurgens is athletic like Kelce. Apparently a former TE

We have taken two centers in two years in the second round. When's the last time LB wasn't completely ignored until Saturday afternoon?

It’s not going to be someone great, but it’s not like there was a future all pro corner waiting to be taken where we picked in the second round. There was a big run on corners and the good ones were gone.

Weren't they grooming one of the swing tackle or guards to take over when Kelce leaves?

This seems like it could have been done next season after Kelce retires and we don't even know if he'll retire after this upcoming season anyway

Maybe the guy is a special talent that they won't find in the draft next year. Kelce thinks so.

We got a guy in the exact same situation last year, and he played just fine.

I thought that's what Dickerson was for.

He’s to big for Hurts to see over and around, when he actually stays in the pocket.

No he didn’t. If he did, they’d have kept him.

All the wrong people are complaining about this pick, so it must be a winner!

And the secondary is gonna get torched by guys like tribisky. But hey Center factory.

Seems to me this pick is indication that Dickerson is staying at guard.  He's too good there.

Yes, he did. He wasn’t great, but he was fine.

They might bring him in on short yardage at TE, his former position.
