Kelce, to me, is a made man in Eagles fandom. He doesn't ask for much but gives a lot. Kelce vouched for this guy and that's all that needed to be said. All-Pro, boom or bust we owed Kelce this pick and I'll never hold it against him. So if he turns out to be a great pick, we’ll credit Kelce. If he’s a bust, we’ll blame Howie.

August 15, 20224 yr Giving Howie some credit, the trenches rarely been an issue with this team. Jurgens just looks like a home run.

August 15, 20224 yr With the pick just before Kyron Johnson in the sixth, the Bills picked a punter...who killed it this past weekend. 80+ yard punt...without any kind of Randall Cunningham roll. Talk about an epic grand slam if they were able to snag him...

Drafting players in the trenches seem to be his strong suit over the past 2 drafts. Dickerson, Milton Williams, Davis, Jergens. Tarron Jackson could possibly join that list if he can make that jump this season

Either through the draft or FA, our lines have been our strong suit since he became GM in 2010. He drafted Brandon Graham, Fletcher Cox, Lane Johnson, Jason Kelce, Jordan Mailata; signed Evan Mathis, Brandon Brooks, Javon Hargrave, Chris Long. How many teams have had this many different all-pros/pro bowlers in the trenches since 2010? It’s impressive and I don’t want it to stop. It’d be great if we somehow figure out our QB situation and can use those 1sts on a DE or two

Are you guys sure that was Andy and not Johnson/Banner/Lurie? Banner goes nuts on his Twitter every day about lineman being worth twice as much as any other non-Qb position, and Roseman is effectively his clone with looser spending habits. Since Andy Reid left the Eagles, our game plan for drafting lineman (O or D), QBs, and WRs in the first round has not changed. But this is how AR’s spent his first round picks in KC: T LB CB QB RB CB DE On top of that, Andy Reid has taken multiple lineman in his first 3 picks only twice in his entire KC tenure. We’ve done it twice in the last 2 years. When dismissing years where he spent a pick on a QB early (the only position more valuable than lineman), Andy’s most recent draft where he took 0 lineman in his first 3 picks was in 2014. The last time we did that was…. 2009 with Andy Reid. And before that? Again in 2002 with Andy Reid. Is our argument that the QB guru and offensive HC Andy Reid was the guy banging on the table for Broderick Bunkley, Mike Patterson? Dude hasn’t taken a first round DT since

Says he's going to be great. I would like to use him on offense often. The starting 5 OL, Kelce at Center. And Cam Jurgens. Doing whatever you want. Mostly blocking probably, from whereever you want to put him. He would be a better blocker than the alternative TE RB or WR. There would be better run blocking and better pass blocking if Jurgens was on the field along with the starting 5 OL. This video says he's smart. I think he is. I think he can figure out how to be useful from the backfield. He would open holes in the line better than anyone else from the RB position. Hurts and Jurgens in the backfield. Jurgens works with the OL to create a huge hole in the line and Hurts runs through it. Jurgens opens the hole then demolishes a LB, and Hurts runs through that. On pass plays he crushes any blitzer and he helps out the rest of the OL if they get beat. More time for Hurts to throw. If there's no pressure he can drift out for a pass. Or, he can lead block for Hurts, destroying those in Hurts path outside, clearing the sideline. And his high school video shows that he can take handoffs and run, and he looks good doing it. Espn had him as the #4 Tight End coming out of high school. If he couldn't catch the ball, they wouldn't have put him at #4. Excellent blocking for any of those positions, plus catch and run. And the Eagles do need someone big out there, especially in short yardage situations. The Eagles have 3 star pass catchers in Brown Smith and Goedert. That's where you want to be throwing the ball. It seems right to have a player out there who makes it easier to throw to those 3 stars instead of a 4th and 5th passing choice. Not necessarily all the time, but some of the time, and you'd be able to assess how well having plus blocking out there helps or doesn't. I wonder if he has an arm? he could throw the discus the farthest that year. 65+ yards.
September 1, 20224 yr good long tv interview with cam jurgens before his sophomore year in high school after he committed to Nebraska. He doesn't care if he's a Tight End or a Linebacker, he's a football player.
September 1, 20224 yr there is a lot of cam jurgens high school footage, 80 yard TD receptions, a lot of TE stuff that makes him look like a real, good TE, the kind that would be #4 TE by ESPN. I'm looking for evidence that he would be good playing TE or RB or FB or just on the field anywhere. Kelce is the starter, and he's great. But Jurgens looks dominant out there, and this high school footage shows some greatness, jumping catches, spin moves, there is the possibility of a very rare freakbeast TE right there. 10/10 mauling blocker, I would say that pass blocking and run blocking he's immediately PFF blue elite 90. There is 2 full years of highlights from each game. Beatrice Orangemen 2016 and 2017, this guy made highlights from most of the games. Jurgens is #44. https://www.youtube.com/user/CoreyWells10/videos?view=0&sort=da&flow=grid
