Yeah, DB is still a concern. Maybe Howie thinks Hurts' level of passing skill is normal in the league and current Eagles DBs are adequate for that, dunno.

April 30, 20223 yr I guess this draft really is for the future. Nothing to address immediate defensive needs this year.

April 30, 20223 yr Author So...Howie finally drafts for BPA and building the future...a year after making the playoffs. He's still learning how to draft and doing what he should've done years ago. But, if this version of Howie is going to stick to the board and draft talent over immediate need that is an improvement. Young O line & skill players...whether Hurts or a 2023 rookie they will be surrounded with support. But we've been waiting 20 years to draft difference makers in the back 7. Maybe someday...

Better to take a stud o lineman than take a desperate reach on a defensive back. They’ve used second round picks on guys like Jones, and Douglas in the third and just didn’t hit on them. I don’t think the corners left this year were even as highly rated as those guys were. I usually hate Howie’s picks, but he seems to have take the best player available here.
April 30, 20223 yr Again. Which CB do you draft at that spot that would roast Howie for reaching? At this point all CBs available are Round 3 quality anyways….this center is a legit round 2 pick. If you hate the pick, name the player you think he should have taken.
April 30, 20223 yr We need a center. The funny thing is they've continuously been adding centers. I guess none of them were as good or better than Kelce.

I had 5 players I wanted the Eagles to takes. 5 players is not a long list. They've made 2 picks. Both were on my list of 5. Can't say anything but AAAAAAAAAAAAAAA+++++++++ Both Davis and Jurgens are physical freakbeasts. Davis is the #2 RAS all time. Jurgens was the top RAS Center. And versatile. High School, he was a "hybrid TE". Which meant a TE who ran the ball a lot. Year 1 you'd have to assume that Kelce is the Center, that's a good thing, he's great. Jurgens has the freakbeast athleticism to allow innovation in a number of different ways. Which is why I had him on my very short list of players I like.

April 30, 20223 yr you know what's funny... this guy is considered athletic.... our 340lb NT is faster hahahaha love it
April 30, 20223 yr The hit rates at OL have definitely been higher than other positions so if Stoutland likes him I feel good about it

April 30, 20223 yr 3 hours ago, Philthy Jawn said: Exactly. If Kelce retires at the end of the season and there's no plan of transition, then the Eagles will be screwed. Badly. I don’t necessarily agree with this even tho I agree with the pick. They already have Dickerson who I know is playing lights out on the left side so no need to change that but he was also picked in exactly the same spot pretty much with the same exact expectations of taking over this year. We also have Isaac who they have at the other guard spot who’s best position all along was center but he was never going to unseat all pro kelce. So the team has options in emergency type situations but it never hurts to have backup plans for backup plans
