Really like the pick. I think he was one of the better players on the board at the time and it is a long term need. The Eagles seem to be drafting for the long term and that is the right thing to do. They aren't reaching on players to fill a need.

Didn’t know much about him, but sounds and looks like  a sensible pick, recommended by one of our greatest ever players in the same position. That’s good enough for me.

Agreed. I think Kelce is in his last year so the move makes sense for the long term. Not an exciting pick but if he's a good player then it's a logical move.

I like the pick and I’d much prefer for him to sit behind Jason Kelce for a year and learn from the master then us drafting his replacement next draft and not having the chance to learn. This is a proactive pick and not like most times where we react to something. The second might have been a tad bit higher then I’d have taken him but if it works out then the second round pick will have been worth it.

I don’t want to jinx it but I think the eagles have had a good draft so far.

The 14 million definitely seems like we underpaid you for years so here is a thank you before you go.

And he's earned that for sure.

Corners and safeties don't win games, controlling the line of scrimmage does.  It's not a sexy pick, but when both lines are strong we roll.

Yeah maybe not, but corners and safeties can certainly lose you games.

Yep, it also serves to confirm Howie's Philosophy of building the team through the line of scrimmage out. It's a solid draft philosophy to have. He just needs to stick to it  repeatedly.

I also believe this team will win the NFC East this year. A J Brown makes our offense so much more dangerous.

AJ Brown makes this offense more dangerous IF Hurts can take a step forwards. If not then no matter who's at WR it wouldn't make a huge difference really.

Yep, that's why we have 2 # 1 picks next year as well. I believe Hurts will improve with better players for him to work with.

I think that's exactly it, this team has so many holes it'll take at least 2 drafts to fill all the needs. At least we got Kelce's replacement taken care of....

This is stated a lot.  The team was 9-8 in 2021.  If they fill half the holes everyone says they have does that make them an 11-6 team.  Then  two more holes in 2023 and they are 13-4?

Will be interesting how the refs react to his blocking technique.

If we had AJ Brown we win the 9ers game that ended 17-11, The Chargers game that ended 27-24, and possibly the Cardinals game that ended 33-26.

The schedule is different this year, but yeah I expect us to be a double digit win team.

We've spent years - years - complaining during games about how bad the back 7 is, giving up easy 3rd down conversions, poor coverage for slants  slot receivers & tight ends, blowing leads, letting teams come back.

Being consistently weak in the back 7 isn't a winning strategy. Yes, you build the lines. But there are 22 starting positions on the team. They haven't drafted a difference maker in the secondary in 20 years. At some point you have to.

Exactly. If Hurts works out then great we have 2 first round picks to bolster this roster further. If he doesn't then we have ammo to get a QB in the first round next year.

A beautiful scenario would be the Saints suck, their 1st and 2nd round picks next year are high. And they don't need to trade up as much (or maybe at all?) if they need to draft a QB. And could still get a QB plus another (hopefully) impact player high.

An NFL center that cures my dry, chapped hands? What's not to like?

I mean that's a dream situation right there my friend. One correction... The second round pick we got from them is 2024.

The way a lot of these guys cry around here he's probably upset we got him the 3rd and not the 2nd.

Yeah but now Dean is going to get third round money when he deserved second round money!

Howie said the 2 guys they wanted when they were picking in the 2nd were Dean or Jurgens, and that despite fan criticism they need to remember they will always prioritize drafting linemen.

Regarding Jurgen's positional versatility. Siri/Howie confirmed that they view him the same as Dickerson.

Someone who can and will play both Guard and Center. Should put on some weight though between now and TC.

Good pick.
