30 head coaches played in college, with 11 of them playing in the NFL.

So, you have to wonder, what is going on that is resulting in the makeup of coaches not even closely resembling the makeup of the players, considering that the pool of candidates to be coaches are almost all former players.

I’m not implying that the answer is nefarious.  But, the data is statistically significant.

I honestly think most players want nothing to do with coaching. I mean race aside I have 30 people working under me only 1 or 2 have any interest in ever being management.
