it's all relative. again, most people who are grading Biden are naturally doing so relative to the option that was given, and even those Biden-voters who think Biden is doing a crap job still think he compares favorably to that alternative.

if the Republican party nominates a normal Republican in the mold of a Romney or even Bush, 2024 is a lock for Republicans. if they nominate Trump, I don't think they can win unless they actually do all the things Democrats are afraid they will do, like having legislatures and secretaries of state override results of state elections and send electors of their choosing.

I would say he's trying, but the right needs to be receptive. and the right is not receptive, because too many still think Trump won and see Democrats as a bigger enemy than say Putin.

Changing the velocity is a positive

If you were losing 1000 bucks a month, made a change and started losing 100 bucks a month, you would look at that change as a net positive even though you were still losing money.

The country has been moving in the wrong direction since ~1990. Biden has slowed that somewhat, but he's basically valedictorian of a summer school with only 2 students.

Eh...I'd prefer to have better options. Getting the "not as terrible" guy isn't really great. Basically, Biden had a low bar to clear and has cleared it. But I'd take any of the other Presidents of my lifetime (other than Carter, born 1979) over either of these guys.
