Posted July 31, 20223 yr I need some help from some of you nerds. I'm looking for an app or something to organize my hunting group. My friend who is the president of the group wants to bring it back to how it was when his dad started it, a group. Right now it's a handful of us that kind of just do our own thing. We have a group text but that's difficult to follow. So I want something kind of similar to a message board. I want to be able to have our property locations pinned in a thread, a place to dump trail cam pics, be able to vote on things and be able to just have general discussion. I'd like an app just because it would be nice if it could notify everyone when a new post is up.

August 1, 20223 yr Can confirm that Slack is a legit app that would work for what you need. The Air Force used to use it with their recall rosters and event planning before they recently switched to Mattermost.

You can create a bunch of threads. It's a bit sheety on your phone and I only get notifications if I'm mentioned. Discord is probably another option I prefer Whatsapp for group messages/notifications but you can't pin messages (and if you can I have no idea how)

We group text sometimes now, but it's an absolute mess and then some people mute it if it goes off too much. I also need to get the president to actually contact people about having a meeting. He's been talking about it for 2 years (and his brother, the old president, was talking about it before he died.). I've been in the club for 5 years and I've only met maybe 25% of the members

That involves being somewhat technologically inclined to go through and do it rather than muting everything. If you do have a meeting it might be worth bringing it up there.
