Posted August 25, 20223 yr Why hasn’t he got a legimate chance? I heard he hasn’t even gotten reps at camp. They paid him more money than any Player as an Undrafted free agent and than don’t play him. It makes no since because Sinnett for sure isn’t the answer. He sucks. Strong can’t be any worse.

If he was doing what they had hoped he would do, he would have been given more reps. There weren't really any good reports about Strong after any practice so far. If he gets one rep, he needs to make the most of that opportunity. Kind of like JJAW last year. When they finally threw him a pass, he dropped it.

August 25, 20223 yr They walked away from how much money invested in Wentz? I don't expect they'd have an issue walking away from $320,000. They were able to get a look at a prospect without investing draft capital. Chump change.
August 25, 20223 yr TIFWIW: Caplan and Mosher said that Strong is not as good as what the Eagles thought he was, they see him as nothing more than a strong arm, and they might not even bring him back on the Practice Squad.

The problem I don’t think you are understanding is they aren’t giving him chances. From everyone at camp he isn’t getting no reps. So you say make the most of your chances and move up he hasn’t gotten any chances. It’s so Strange they won’t even play him in preseason instead they are playing the bum Reid Sinett. Listen I’m not saying he’s the anwser as a third string qb I’m Saying give him the same chance you gave Sinett. Like others said maybe they want to hide him on the practice squad and intentionally want to hide him on the roster for next year as back up. He’s got to be better than Reid.

The Carson Strong award: a promising prospect with college tape who just completely doesnt show up in camp I still think my optimism was pretty warranted, even more now that he cost no draft picks to take a chance on. A number of draftniks who aren’t complete nobodies seemed to see potential in his tape too. This never had anything to do with Hurts either, he just seemed to be a promising pocket QB prospect on a team built for that. Maybe they’re right and he’s just so legendarily bad that no other team can salvage him.

With that being the case I doubt Mishew plays much if at all against Miami. If Strong doesn’t get at least a half to try and prove his case then you know what they think of him right now.

I know a lot of people on this board and a lot of draft experts were high on Strong, but all 32 teams passed on him in all 7 rounds. There were clearly red flags beyond his injury history. There is a small chance that they are not giving him reps so they can stash him on the practice squad, but given he was undrafted and given the reports we do have of his minimal action, it is far more likely that he is struggling with the mental and/or physical aspects of the pro-game to the point where they haven’t so far felt comfortable in giving him extended reps.
August 25, 20223 yr I think bottom line he just hasn't earned it? And ultimately the reps need to go more to those guys who are going to be part of the 53. I suspect they'll try and get him on to the PS and give him some time.
August 25, 20223 yr Remember when he was picked up as a UDFA and everyone on the board was wondering why he'd dropped so far and some were saying 'there's a big old red flag or medical issue somewhere' and others were saying 'hot damn we got a starter for nothing, I hope they make it an open competition at QB'. Well turns out the first group were probably right and the UDFA with multiple knee surgeries isn't a hidden gem after all.

August 25, 20223 yr The only bit of news I got out of camp is Strong is far behind the other QBs on the roster. He simply hasn't earned his chance. Maybe they want to bury him so he doesn't get an offer from another team... But I sense he's no good now and needs more work.

He looked terrible in training camp to the point that Sinnett was clearly better so he has been phased out as only a certain number of reps can go around.
