no question in my mind they are trying to get Strong to the PS. They will not be keeping a 3rd QB on the 53 roster.

What do they see in Sinnett? If Strong isn't good enough to start in the preseason over Sinnet he must absolutely suck, Me thinks the quarterback factory has had a breakdown. Three preseason games with Sinnet was at least one or two too many.

They were trying to show him off as possible trade bait the last few games. It did not work.

I find it hard to believe they could not find a better 3rd string QB after cuts than what they have now. Maybe the eagles minds see more than I do but from just someone watching the games I don't see what they see. Maybe he practices well but in games I did not see anything at all outside of a handful of plays. Every dog finds a bone now and then though. Overall, pretty brutal through the pre-season at QB.

I thought Sinnett looked sort of OK against Cleveland and awful against Miami. I'm going to judge Strong based on 2 or 3 passes? Nope. I don't think any other team would put Strong on their 53 which they'd have to do to get him off the Eagles' practice squad. Some sort of stash seems likely unless Strong has other issues we don't know about.

He looked like I would expect someone to look who has had no reps and is thrown into a game where the line doesn't care if you get creamed because they are all getting cut tomorrow anyway. He was basically given no shot to make the team and no chance to show anything for another team. He wasn't even used as a camp arm for all that we know.

Normally if a QB is so bad they'll cut that person and try to find another camp body to take snaps in pre-season. I would say that means they find value in him but I know they've had situations in the past where they kept someone with no reps and then just cut them. Sirianni said at rookie camp he was impressed with his arm and we saw some footage that backed that up so it's puzzling. If he'd tanked rookie camp I don't think it would be as puzzling.

If they keep him, we'll know we were intentionally kept in the dark. If they cut him, and don't put him on the PS, we may never know what went south.

I think so too, unless there's another team that was high on him and are catching onto what we're trying to pull with Strong here(not playing him so we can sneak him on it) otherwise it really doesn't make sense shelling out that kind of guaranteed money on an UDFA to just not play them at all, even in practice.

lol

The guaranteed money was because they had an opportunity to get a look at a player that was allowed to sign with anybody for his first shot. He chose us because of what we offered. Unfortunately, he hasn't lived up to expectations. It's not that big a deal in the end. No draft capital was wasted and it's not as big a disappointment at $320K compared to say, Agholor's 5th year option.

He gave us hope, if Hurts didn't pan out, so he was great for that. Hurts appears to have improved. I hope that he continues to push and strive for perfection.

He’s apparently been cut along with Tartt

What?!  OMG. This is totally uncalled for... a day early?

Went from the great hope to cut? 😂

We were just discussing this in the blog, he actually doesn’t meet the qualifications for the nasty nate award

The kid I watched lead an awesome 2 minute drill vs Fresno St, was not the same at the Senior Bowl, the Combine and reports from his pro day weren’t great either.  The sense of urgency he played with in college did not translate at all, there were also reports of him having bad interviews. His knee got healthier but he got worse.

Because Nate was good in TC?

Caplan was right that Eagles didn't think of him as anything other than an arm.

One of the more memorable Nasty Nate winners in recent memory.

Weird to see people thrilled about this like he was a threat to Hurts...

A career starting safety cut by a team in desperate need of safety help. That’s a confidence killer right there

He actually played in multiple games.  Part of the nasty nate criteria is perform in games, raising the expectation.

He does not qualify for the award, see my post above.

They clearly didn't even think of him as that considering he never got to do team drills in practice or play in the games. Very strange to have kept him all preseason, never let him do anything, and not cut him until the final 53 cuts.

Not thrilled, just pretty amusing due to the amount of hype some fans had for him. 😄

I'm sure the folks that criticize Hurts will be 10x worse if he fails this season. Don't be so sensitive 😄

After hearing what he said in his post game, it sounds like the coaching staff just stone walled him and never gave him a shot. Well for his sake I hope another team gives him a shot.

Not a good look from this coaching staff.

Yeah, we saw utter trash get more time in the past. If he sucked that bad cut him the start of August or give him reps.

It's not. Unless Howie brought him in and they were against it. Again, cut him and let him catch on another place or give him reps.
