I find it hard to believe that Strong didn't have enough physical and/or mental talent to get a reasonable amount of snaps in the preseason.  Plenty of bad players play in preseason that have no chance at an NFL roster.  This is especially true of a guy that the head coach complimented early on, who they interviewed multiple times, and who they paid a major signing bonus to.  The Eagles aren't stupid. Seems like there is more to this story....

Eagles gave away most of their late round picks in last years draft. They were desperate for UDFA players. They spent a little extra on Strong, but not a lot. Not a major signing bonus.

As for Sirianni’s compliments, I trust what he says about players less every day.

Why did Strong not get snaps? Don’t know.
Didn’t earn them. Was embarrassing himself. Maybe QB factory was working on Sinnett as the next coming of trade bait.

Maybe the Eagles were hoping Sinnett would level up to backup QB so we could trade Minshew.

Bottom line is if the Eagles really believed in Strong as much as you all assume they do to the point you’re turning this into some kind of conspiracy theory wouldn’t it make more sense to play him and see what he can do? If he can actually play then that makes Minshew an expendable asset. If he’s this ultimate super stash then why release him? Any team can pick him up off their practice squad if they choose to go that route. Any team can sign him off waivers now. The Eagles protected Mialata way better than they protected the great Carson Strong. You guys are reading way too much into this.

50 cents says Strong will be signed to the practice squad

So Strong isn’t ready yet. He’s right where lots of young QBs are. Getting released and placed on the practice squad.

Strong can sign here or elsewhere or nowhere. Wait and see.
Does he get stashed for a year? Maybe. Conspiracy? Not really. He’s not QB2 or QB3 just yet.

Side note: Sinnett didn’t impress as QB3. Doesn’t look like the answer. Not sure what happens with him. Will the Eagles PS Sinnett and Strong?

Jalen Hurts 23 years old leading the Eagles to the playoffs. "He sucks!” He can’t improve!”
Carson Strong 23 years old and cut. "Oh he’s a young improving player who is right where he’s supposed to be!”
You guys are hilarious 😂

Who said Strong is improving? Or right where he's supposed to be?

Strong has not impressed and may not get signed anywhere.

If the Eagles keep him on PS, he is just a project.

It's not the number of candles on either birthday cake, ace. It's displayed talent. Eagles for your hero, Nevada for Strong.

Oh, boy.  Here we go again with your silly BS.  It may be that he is just too dumb to learn the playbook.  It may be that he has a horrible, entitled attitude.  It may be that he is worse passer than even Hurts (hard to believe). Fine, but bad players are all over rosters in preseason playing meaningful snaps, while the Eagles seem to be saying that the issue requires that "we protect you from exposure on the field" for whatever reason.   Maybe, its the knee.  No matter what it is, he is gone without even a chance for the world to see him take snaps.  Just appear to be a very odd evaluation process.

Even from your position as the main Hugger, you have to admit that it's a little odd.

Don't get baited into his fantasyland.  He just makes that stuff up to create conflict.

All of this. He was an UDFA. In all likelihood he was so underdeveloped that the coaches didn’t trust him to play meaningful reps in a practice/game. Or Reid was clearly ahead of him and they wanted Reid to win the QB3 battle and potentially make Minshew expendable. Or a combination of the two.

Very possible he lands on the practice squad.

Than why not play him in the game? Some players are terrible at practice but are truly lights out during game time scenarios. Why not let him play? I have a hard time to think he put up the numbers he did in college but all of a sudden sucks now. He’s not worse than Reid.

Because he sucks. Period.

How much will you cry baby Hurts hugging ledouchhhhers complain every day when they sign Carson Strong to the Practice Squad?

The biggest issue is that Hurts fails to perform, not that there are other QBs in the organization.

If Strong can straighten out his muffin man head, Hurts will be in trouble.

The dude that played QB for Nevada last season didn’t show up to the Senior Bowl, Combine, Pro Day, or Training Camp.
His father wanted him to skip last season after he had a cartilage transplant in February 2021.  His Dr’s even told him it would be 8-10 months before it healed plus his body may reject the transplant.  Instead he missed one practice in August, and that was it, he had his knee drained after every practice and the same for games until November, but somehow while his knee got healthier, he couldn’t figure out how to push off of it.  Jordan Palmer who has worked with a ton of QB’s, worked with Strong on that flaw and obviously it’s still his main issue.
Like any other fan, I have no idea what happened in some of his interviews, and apparently they all didn’t go well. Whether it’s arrogance, or ignorance, the supposed character flaw has never been explained except for that he has one.
Good article from the Colts as they were mocked to draft him in the 2nd round.

I think Strong has been dunked on enough here, I wasn't his biggest fan but I wish the kid well and hope he can carve out a spot in the NFL.

It sucks for him as his knee injury certainly hampered his once promising career, hope he can land on his feet.

Nasty Nate

Carson Strong 😂🤣😂 So how’s that secret PS weapon conspiracy going? 😂🤣😂

None of this is true. Admit you were wrong and move on. Strong is nowhere near where "all young quarterbacks are.” He just wasn’t good enough. Shows how much you dopes hate Hurts and how clueless all you internet GMs are. Let it go. Hurts is your quarterback. Suck it up.

String Theory: He's renting space in your head. You can't leave it alone.

I have no idea why you’re going at me. Hurts sucks too.

Maybe he just stinks. You "anyone but Hurts” dopes are so eager for a guy who can’t run that you put all your hopes on a guy who probably can barely move back there. So stupid. 😂🤣😂

"Renting space” Back to this BS. You clowns are a joke. Carson Stong. 😂🤣😂

I was thinking The same. He is a poster boy candidate for Nasty Nate

The award should be renamed the Carson Strong Award now. Nate got more preseason reps than this dude with far less hype.

I guess we will have to wait for Strong's second rookie season.   Question, being an UDFA, how many more rookie years does he get than Hurts ??

I think you need to get a first rookie season right? 😂🤣😂
