Can they afford to not only carry a gunner on the 52, but dress him every week? That probably means going one short on OL/DL for games. I would rather have Allen as a gunner in the game, then having an extra Guard, or Reagor, or another backup sitting on the bench during the game. His speed is a real deal and he had good progression from not playing to actually contributing.

Or he is another fast guy who can't get open during the game against legit starters (if Hurts can hit him). Gunners are valuable, but if the punter is doing his job, which is questionable with who they have, it shouldn't be an issue having backup LB/CB/S covering them. We've all seen quite a few games over the years where all the backup OL get on the field.
August 30, 20223 yr A little sad to see Ward go but everyone else is just simply more talented at the position.

Making room for someone else? yeah that one’s a little surprising i thought he did enough in the run game to be kept and could have been used to return kicks also instead of covey i would say if we can’t get a big back or someone else add howard to the PS again

August 30, 20223 yr I thought Huntley did ok preseason but it does make you wonder if we're after a certain established power back

He’s like that guy in the zombie movie where the whole audience thought he’d die first, and there he is in the final battle at the end: missing a leg and half a face and he’s inexplicably going to make it out of there despite no relevant plot impact nor interesting character beats I appreciate what he contributed over the past 3 years but honestly it is time to move on. He'd be WR5 at best and that position is likely going to be handed to Reagor simply due to draft status and because of the cap hit we would incur to cut him. Ward is what he is ... a WR that is decent but nothing more. I'd sooner see a few of the younger guys like Allen, Covey, and Cain stick around on the PS to develop to see if we may have someone who will have a higher ceiling.

I feel his is the personification of all the receiver troubles we’ve had since the SB. Him no longer making the squad is a nice parallel to us making the position a strength

First, it's an inconsequential amount of money to the Eagles even in a tight cap situation. Second, it's obvious they had to outbid other teams for him. As far as Strong getting cut goes - he didn't show wellat all in camp. Sure the knee is an issue, but my guess is that it was too big a mental adjustment to go from the Nevada catch and shoot offense to the NFL read and react offense.

He dances around too much, just hit the hole and go.

August 30, 20223 yr Kind of surprised Allen was cut. At least he could be a special teams demon. F'n Reagor. 2 hours ago, time2rock said: Good cause he stinks.
