August 30, 20223 yr So I had wrong: Had Anderson over Sills Had Allen over Jobe (kinda happier they kept Jobe) Harris on team and no Gardner-Johnson trade
August 30, 20223 yr Author Damn glad Blankenship made the team. Of all DBs (that aren't starters) I'd argue he looked the best. And glad we kept Jobe too ... I think he has potential to develop into a future starter.

August 31, 20223 yr A pretty good roster. I like the depth, the mix of young and older talent, a big upgrade for the Defense and for the WR room.

It looked like Anderson was the versatile OL who played well in preseason games, but I’m no Stoudtland and we could use OT depth, especially if we hope to trade Dilliard or expect to lose him in FA.

Meh, he has been in the league 5 years and 4 different teams, now looking to be 5 teams. Obviously something is or isn't there with him that teams don't like.
August 31, 20223 yr We shed a lot of Known Bums this offseason. For me the biggest remaining Known Bums are K`Von and Davion. I guess Reagor too but maybe this offseason gave some hope for him I shouldn't have and it's not so bad when he's WR5

From Tommy Lawlor: Quote Josh Sills played LG and LT this summer. I thought he showed good potential, but I thought the coaches would prefer Anderson or Awosika for their experience. Instead they went with Sills. He is a more natural tackle than Awosika and I think Anderson was hurt by the presence of Cam Jurgens. That made Sills the better option. I was disappointed that Anderson and Awosika didn’t take more of a step forward this summer. There didn’t seem to be a lot of growth from last year. http://igglesblitz.com/2022/08/eagles-announce-roster/

He played LT in college as well as OG. Probably more of a pro guard and he has issues with side to side lateral movement as do most huge guys. But he could fill in and finish a game at LT maybe spot start a game or two in a pinch. I hate to lose Anderson but he was strictly an interior OLman and they valued Sill's ability to slide out to OT. Maybe he could take over at RG if he develops.

Anderson seems like a good candidate for the PS should he clear waivers. We'll find out soon enough ... they can start assembling their practice squads as of noon today.

Probably a safe assumption they move Covey up from the practice squad to serve as PR and WR5.

Anyhow, I've been following him for 3 years, he got injured his Jr year but he's a good back, 5'11'', 225. If the Pats put him on the practice team, no doubt the Eagles should pick him up, if he's unclaimed they should pick him up, if that means carrying 4 RBs, so be it. Kevin Harris Highlights

August 31, 20223 yr There's an open spot on the roster. Traded Reagor and wiaved Taylor. Signed Book. What do we add? Sign a big running back? Add a 5th receiver from our own practice squad? Still don't have a kick/punt returner. What happens now?

I have a feeling they’ll move Covey up to serve as PR and WR5 (unless they find someone else who has been released).

But the thing is, they don’t actually need to bring Covey up to the 53 man roster for him to be able to play and return punts. They can shuffle him back and forth between the PS and game day activation status as many times as the rules will allow, at which point they probably will activate him fully. The Cowboys are playing the same roster maneuvering game with their backup quarterback at the moment (they only have one QB on the roster), as well as with their kicker (they don’t have one on their active roster). The new rules provide teams with a lot of flexibility in this manner. My guess is that they’ll simply re-sign Taylor to the 53 if he clears waivers.
