Hey, wasn't that deep pass to Brown on Hurt's right?

This 2nd half I have a feeling we will be run heavy.

AJ Brown reminds me a lot of TO the way he plays.  18 years later and we finally have a player close to that level again at WR.

I am out of town so I only get Red Zone for Eagles plays.

Have there been wide open guys in the end zone that Hurts is not seeing or has it been a combo of bad play calls and tight coverage?

We will have detailed diagnosis later in the week but I'm curious to what people think about it so far.

Did you miss the slant pass he zipped in a tight window to AJ earlier?

That was a good throw, but he needs to hit those more often. The sideline pass to a streaking AJ he missed and terribly under threw, the pass before the half he under threw to the RB. His arm is more garbage than good. Youre lying to yourself if you think his arm is good. And it's honestly not worth the argument. So quote me, laugh or whatever.

He's a RB at QB, that hopefully will improve as the season goes on. A legit arm QB, and this game is a blowout.

It was accurate yeah. Hurts made some of those last year two.

I don't believe his problem is he can't hit that pass; the problem is he isn't terribly consistent at it

I still wish Hurts would quit running and pass more....he has Smith also or has he already forgotten about him?? He reminds me of a younger and smaller McNabb....

He's got like 21 pass attempts already lol. I'll take a decent day over 3 INTs (burrow)

So which team makes the adjustments at half time ?

I don't ever get emotional with sports, but the problems we've had at the WR position since Irving Fryar retired have been really draining. TO was a godsend until he wasn't. Djax should have played twice as many years here as he did. Maclin went out to hit paydirt the moment he broke out. Alshon was never THAT good.

AJ Brown makes me tear up. He's huge, fast, great hands, will go over the middle, excellent 50/50 ball attacker.

He's perfect

I expect Devonta Smith will be really good, as well.

The offense has been like a 1968 GTO with a bad float valve. Sometimes it's hauling butt and then runs out of gas.

And SEVEN YEARS younger

That was Sirianni’s strength last year, wasn’t it?

no Fox I am not going to watch the GD Mets

ESPN boxscore has DeVonta Smith at 0 catches on 2 targets but he caught a 1st down pass on the right sideline as his third target?

Whats nice about AJ though is Devonta doesn't have to be really good right this moment, which would have had to happen if we didnt swing the trade

I agree, but I think the pl;aycalling doesn't always help him. Not trying to be an apologist, but there are too many RPOs, meaning he will tuck it and run a bit too often. I believe this is a crease that can be ironed out. Let the man be a QB, rather than a dual threat on every play

Maliata holding on that play. Doesn't count

FYI. Frank Reich (who I think we all respect) is getting his ass kicked in Houston. His team is not ready and polished either.

Its week 1 and they don't use preseason correctly anymore.

Agreed.  He will win us some games despite his arm, but surely will lose us a few due to his arm.  If we had Garrapalo for instance, he might hit the mark more often, but would never run to extend drives like Hurts.  Not sure there's an instant oatmeal solution out there since the draft every year is a crapshoot

You mean like....

Hurts runs, Hurts runs, Hurts runs, Hurts runs, Hurts runs, Hurts runs, Hurts runs, Hurts runs, Hurts runs, Hurts runs, Hurts runs, Hurts runs, Hurts runs, Hurts runs, Hurts runs, Hurts runs, Hurts runs, Hurts runs, Hurts runs, Hurts runs, Hurts runs, Hurts runs, Hurts runs, Hurts runs, Hurts runs, Hurts runs, Hurts runs, Hurts runs, Hurts runs, Hurts runs, Hurts runs, Hurts runs?"

Everyone in this topic hating on Hurts is a clown.  Both lines got punched in the mouth early and often and Hurts has responded well.  If you hate the guy, then move on to another team and root against us every week.

Hurts on pace for 43 passes and 20 rushes.  RBs on pace for 16 rushes.

What a masterclass of play calling.

Yeah. I think Sirianni's thought process is forcing a drop back offense may be better for Hurts's development longterm, but there will be growing pains. So he needs to balance what will win right now with what will help Jalen

This is weird for me. 24 at half and I feel like we underperformed. Am I the only one that has that feeling?

I wouldn't expect much with Ryan now. I don't see Colts making the playoffs
