September 9, 20223 yr Doing my channel surfing CNN is covering the Queens death and Fox had a reporter on a beach stalking young girls asking what fascism is or who is the current Vice President (which they don’t know) and then you know Tucker came on crying about something that doesn’t remotely effect any of us. Take your pick.

Take your pick. Meh. We kicked the Brits out centuries ago. Showing the ignorance of our future on national television isn't really necessary. It's right outside your door.

September 9, 20223 yr I sent my condolenses to my friends in Canada, since she was technically head of state there. While some Canadians don't care about the monarch, my friends do recognize their British past and culture there. It appears that time heals all wounds. The sentiment from Americans seems to be much more respectful and sympathetic than that from the Irish.

It really doesn't, I live here and married an English woman and it's one of those things where the media pretend that the whole nation is 'united in grief' but most aren't that bothered and are fed up that everything is getting cancelled for 10 days. There could be some real unrest given the current economic situation and the fact the government is about to spend an absolute fortune holding a State funeral and then a Coronation, while a lot of pensioners and people on low wages can't afford their energy bills. As for Charles, no one who's fingers regularly look like this is going to be on the throne that long.

September 9, 20223 yr Didn't realize Attenborough is the same age as her. I kinda get why people are bummed out about her death, because likewise I'll definitely be bummed out at the thought of living in a world without his voice to narrate it.

I mean I'm no royalist but it's a huge moment in UK history and a sad time for her family. She's all most people in the UK (and around the world) have known.

It's certainly sad, but I can't stand Baked Beans, let alone for breakfast or those that like tinned tomatoes with a fried breakfast. Freaks. Proper smoked back bacon though; food of gods. I am at least comforted that at 96, the Queen didn't shart in the Vatican, didn't fall of a bicycle in front of the press, could speak in public and was engaged in the world until the end. I can't think of anyone who wouldn't be ale to do that at 79 and be considered a serious leader.
