It’s been really mild here for most of May. But we’ve had 10” of rain in the past 10 days, and got hit by the remnants of a tropical storm yesterday. Mother Nature is bipolar.

We've been getting a lot of tornado warnings with nothing happening

If I were given the choice of tropical Earth or Ice Age Earth, I'm buying extra sun screen 100 out of 100 times. Warm periods correlate well with human advancement. Cold periods correlate well with dark ages. i'm not saying it's the cause, but i'm just saying...

It was great to run in. Only ran a couple of miles, but was drenched when I came in.

I come through Mooresville all the time on business. Or, I used to, back when customers would see me. You on the lake?

Would you look at that?  Fewest tornadoes in 50 years.  Someone raise my taxes quick!!

(When it's bad news, they all come out to ban oil.   When it's good news...)

Its because we have been indoor for 3 months and cant drive anywhere

We’ve had a couple tornado warnings here in the last 2 years.  I live in Philly.   Last year, with our son under a year old, got text alert of tornado warning at midnight.  All caps letters to stay away from windows, get to interior room, etc... of course his crib is right near window.   So got him out of crib and brought him down to downstairs bathroom.

Poor guy woke up, was so confused. Of course no tornado came.  It’s Philly for crying out loud!  Could a tornado even come?
Thankfully he was able to get back to sleep with no problem.
My coworkers didn’t let me live it down. Bust my stones constantly any time there’s a bad rain/wind storm.

Don't you get it?

The LACK of tornadoes ALSO means that the climate is changing.   That is ALSO proof of climate change.

They win, you lose.

Oh I've never said the climate doesn't change, and I really dont even like to argue about whether it's man made, although I have my doubts.  I've always been a firm believer however that global warming is not a bad thing

Not sure what it is, but it’s been humid and in the 70s for the last 25 years here.

I see the temps are rising steadily in downtown Philly,

what with all the police cars on fire and store-fronts burning after being looted.

Philly is one of the 30 cities that are rioting then? Our news is reporting 30 major cities are.

There is no such thing as 'Global Warming'.

There is such a thing as 'Climate Change' and this is why the Liberal media have changed what they call it.

Climate change has happened at least dozens if not hundreds of times over billions & millions of years. At least five major ice ages have occurred throughout Earth's history: the earliest was over 2 billion years ago, and the most recent one began approximately 3 million years ago and continues to this day. And with these changes in climate there is a corresponding rise or fall in ocean levels, depending. And all of this has precious little to do with man's occupation of the planet.

I live in the southern coastal plain of NJ. This entire area of NJ was once under sea water, as evidenced by the mega-trillions upon trillions upon trillions etc. of small, rounded (weathered) stones you'll find in the dirt anywhere down here . . . along with a thin layer of greyish colored sand which still covers pristine wooded areas . . . which is accompanied by a gently rolling up & down topography which reveals the nature of the former ocean bottom that it once was.

The ocean was here once and it will likely be here again at some point. It's all part of the same cycle that powers our weather which is 99% caused & influenced by our sun via heat, radiation, plasma & solar flares. The movement of the continents has something to do with weathering but it's more what effects occur after being influenced by weathering, rather than causing weathering.

EXAMPLE:  Men have been scaling Mt. Everest for a few hundred years or so. This mountain system is still rising slowly, being forced upward by the smashing of the sub-continent of India into the belly of Asia. Within the past 100 years men have brought samples of Earth taken from various heights on Everest and you know what they've found? Evidence of fossilized sea creatures 3, 4 or 5 miles up in the sky!  That means that the Earth which now sits 29000 feet up in the clouds was once under an ocean somewhere in the distant past!

Similarly, the weather patterns we now see are the result of extremely complex forces which are largely driven by solar activity . . . and other sometimes inter-planetary forces such as Comets & Asteroids. It can also be influenced by cataclysmic super-volcanic eruptions we now know happened at various times in the distant past. See the Ashfall Nebraska volcanic ash-beds for reference: https://ashfall.unl.edu/

It's worth noting that in terms of 'Geologic Time' our lives are but the blink of an eye. Indeed, man's total time on this planet is only an infinitesimally small interval as well. We have accurate weather records for very limited areas of the planet that go back to A.D. 1880 or so. Again, blink of an eye in the long haul.

We think we know enough to make all sorts of assumptions re: all sorts of historical events. It's OK to logically pursue such things . . . with this caveat: beware the military / industrial complex. Also beware the Liberal intelligentsia who are dependent upon the government for funding their 'fishing expeditions' for fun & profit. Back in the 70's it was this same intelligentsia that tried to sell us 'Global Cooling'. How does _that_  lead to where we are today??

If you want to know the real truth of  _ANYTHING_  on this planet . . . follow the money.

Has man had an effect on the planet?  Yes, but only in a relatively minor way.

As George Carlin once said, "We're so self-important."     :dope-slap:

I'm concerned with the amount of plastic and other pollutants previously discharged into the environment but even these will be handled by the planet and it's other occupants in due time through its self-correcting systems. We now know that certain microscopic organisms can devour plastic . . . and there's a certain bee living in South America that has discovered plastic is a wonderful raw material to be used in the lining of their hives, which is amazing and yet another example of life adapting to environment and finding a way forward.

Just my opinion . . . but it's well considered.
