And the biggest scandal in the history of mankind dies with a whimper.  Sad.  No worries.  They'll manufacture a new one next month.

Hold on... it wasn't even Kislyak that brought up sanctions. It was Flynn.

The Logan Act? 😆

An antiquated law, some 200 years old, under which not a single American has ever been convicted, is dusted off and applied to an official, operating under the auspices of an incoming elected President, for obvious quasi-legal justification of a political spying operation and we're supposed to be impressed?

BTW, sanctions discussion is not a criminal act. Any criminality supposed by Flynn is strictly limited to his responses to questions by FBI agents during their ambush interview.

Flynn: The boss is aware.

So now we know Trump knew Flynn was talking to Russians the whole time. He and Pence denied knowing anything about it. The fact that he fired Flynn for it makes it even more hilarious

Of course. Law and order MAGAbots are all about law and order until, well, the law is applied to them.

But, back in reality, it was a big deal to Flynn. Otherwise he wouldn't have lied to authorities about it... three times. And of course Trump and Pence wouldn't have a problem with it. Definitely wouldn't fire someone over it.

What the F are you talking about? Of course Trump knew Flynn was talking to the Russian Ambassador. That was his job!

Flynn was set to talk to every ambassador eventually. That's what incoming admins. do. Are you seriously suggesting that the routine conversations between incoming heads of state via their representatives is a scandal?

Law and order? Seriously? That law has never been applied until Flynn.

How about an equal application of the law? Is that too much to ask?

This is such a nothing burger that there isn’t even a bun.

He was the incoming national security advisor. Of course he talked about undoing the last minute trouble making of the previous administration. Wow. If rehashing years old silliness is all there is, then what a gyp.

Eh, they discussed sanctions, Flynn lied about it to the FBI, then plead guilty.  Doesn’t matter if the DOJ drops the charges, he’s gotta go to jail.

If you change the meaning of the word discussion.  Yeah yeah yeah is not a discussion.

Yeah, Kislyak brought it up, but there was no discussion.  Now we’ll pretend that definitions don’t matter.

They’ll have until 2024 to prepare.

So when Flynn is telling Kislyak that Russia shouldn’t over-react, you think they’re talking about the weather or something?

That was not about sanctions, was it?

I was talking about Obamagate, you know, the scandal without an actual scandal involved.  But also bigger than Watergate.  Bigger, I say!

But I could see the confusion, since there is a real scandal here.  Flynn's case was dropped by the DOJ despite it being 100% clear that he broke the law.  AKA Trump and his people are all a bunch of elitist criminals with Get-Out-of-Jail-Free cards.  But don't worry, we're all long since past the point of being surprised by any of this.  The fat criminal will be voted out soon and it'll be a distant memory.

You can hold this thought in your head without considering for one second why it is the business of the FBI what Flynn discussed with Kislyak.

The pretext for surveilling Flynn was bogus. The "interview" afterward was shown to be a set up.

BTW, Flynn was never charged with lying to the FBI. The fact that you insist on misrepresenting the facts shows what a pleb you are.

Just as I thought. You, and four years of permanent government fishing, have nothing to hang your hat on. Which, I must admit, is quite a feat. If Trump is such an obvious miscreant, it would be pretty easy to demonstrate that with ample resources at the disposal. Alas, nothing.

Meanwhile, more and more evidence comes to fore detailing a failed attempt to frame a duly elected President of treason.

So, the question becomes, is it treason to frame one for treason?

Barring an Attorney General more interested in institutional integrity, Obama would hang.

Misstatements.
