Its an AFC opponent so doesnt hurt tiebreakers and will help lower some media expectations/hype. Eagles generally play better as an underdog. Also like Doug Pederson and he deserves some redemption for the way he was pushed out the door for finally trying to stand up for himself Or how bout another victory, like Week 1 vs Detroit where it kinda looks like a shootout but we adjust and lock it down in the 4th quarter with a QB sneak to seal the win, 31-24

The Hurricane has the Jag players scrambling to make sure their families and possessions are safe, needless to say that may be a major destraction getting the game plan together. But if any coach knows how to prepare for battle, its Doug Pederson. Jags 24 Eagles 21 on a last second field goal.

September 29, 20223 yr Would like to see a great game, but have a feeling we start pulling away in the 3rd quarter and just run the clock out in the 4th

Colts have been a dumpster fire with a lot of talent this season and previous. What is this Colts talent that everyone speaks of? They are on their 3rd straight dead corpse for a QB. The only 2 stars on offense are a guard and a RB. The defense has pieces but is ultimately centered around a banged up off ball LB. Reich has been making lemonade in Indy.
September 29, 20223 yr I had an eye open for jags to upset Philly this Sunday, but with all the hurricane jazz I just don't see how a young team goes into Philly firing on all cylinders. Doug is, if anything, an emotionally intelligent coach and I don't expect him to ride them hard for an NFC road game under these conditions just to settle his own personal score. Eagles 31-7
September 29, 20223 yr Will weather play a factor? What's packing Florida today, will dump a bunch of rain Sunday morning. Jags are improved, but this is the same team that loss to Washington just a few weeks ago. The Colts are trash, and the Chargers aren't elite. I personally think Detroit and Minny can beat both the teams they won, and the Jags themselves. I think we are going to look back and the end of the season and realize the Lions are better then their reputation. Btw, I thought I'd share... apologies if somebody beat me to it.

I don't think any of them individually are any kind of offensive master mind ... but collectively, Doug and Frank (and Flip too) made a great team in coming up with some pretty solid game plans.
September 29, 20223 yr Author The more i think of this game the more nervous im getting. Even more nervous that i was for Minnesota. What if this Jags team are the 2017 Eagles? Doug as head coach 2nd year QB

September 29, 20223 yr I expect us to get out coached in this game. Our staff has been too conservative and hasn't done a good job of continuing the offense in the second half. I think we have the better team so we have a shot but this staff better wake up.

September 30, 20223 yr I think Pedersen has instilled a professional attitude in jacksonville.....and the veterans respond well to that......he is very good at QB development and the Jags had a really good offseason with the draft and free agency. Plus he put together a experienced coaching staff. I think the Jags are on a really good path, but I do think they are playing a bit over their heads.....it's a long season, but they are definitely building confidence. This game is an emotional game for them, as they really want to win this for Pedersen. I think the Eagles are on a mission.....Sirianni, Gannon, the defense and especially Hurts have had to deal constantly with doubts about whether they are legit or not......not to mention making the playoffs last year and getting bounced. I think they're sick and tired of hearing about Dallas being the team to beat in the NFCE, they are driven to get back to the playoffs and are tired of the nitpicking about how they won the last 3 games. The culture that Sirianni has created is one of constant improvement.....but keeping winning at the front. I think the Jags play an energized game but the eagles just have too many weapons and the defense is getting more confident as each game passes. Eagles 31 Jags 17
September 30, 20223 yr I don't doubt that pederson wants to win this game for obvious reasons but, no one on Jacksonville is tied to the eagles. Sure the players will say they want to win it for Doug but, I doubt they are anymore motivated than they already are. I'm going low score 20-10 eagles.
October 1, 20223 yr Do you remember Keith Byar's halfback option six touchdown passes? I think that's part of the reason Philly-Philly was so successful, the Eagles really don't run the Halfback option anymore, or reverses let alone a reverse throw to QB. Wouldn't it be great if HB Trey Sermon comes in pretends to run a pitch out single back formation only to throw to TE Grant Calcaterra for a touchdown? Or even better to QB Jalen Hurts?
October 2, 20223 yr The one variable nobody seems to be talking about - the weather. It's hard for a team from Florida to come up north and play in a cold, wet game. That, plus HFA in general bodes well for the Eagles.

October 2, 20223 yr 90% chance of rain throughout the game. That kind of weather could tilt the game one way or another. Have to protect the ball at all costs.

I want to say us due to our potential to run and how athletic our offensive line is, but I can also see the defensive line struggling to get push. Also, I just really hope Sanders can protect the ball. I could be a lower scoring game but I'm picking the Eagles to take it 23-17.
