Posted September 28, 20223 yr Let's hope this doesn't become a lingering problem. The Eagles missed those two in the second half last week and it showed.
September 28, 20223 yr It just makes sense to rest them......they were a little banged up last week and played. A few more days rest is good.
September 28, 20223 yr Dickerson has been dealing with a foot problem since the Minny game. Slay came out the Minny game too, and he looked a bit slow against the Commanders, but that could be due to the fact he was going up against one of the faster guys in the NFL.
September 28, 20223 yr At this point in the week I think it's something to note but not very overly concerned about. If they are still sitting out tomorrow and Friday then it's a bit of an issue.
September 28, 20223 yr This is why we have depth. We can rest guys at practice that are a little sore and keep their potential replacements prepared if needed.

It’s fine to say we have depth, but there is a significant drop off to the guys behind Slay. Dickerson has also been looking good for us as well. Regardless I think both players are going to play.

It's one thing when you lose multiple starters in a position group (2020), but when you only need to fill one position and the rest of the position group remains healthy, it's easy to scheme to mitigate the "drop off." McPhearson has come in for Slay a couple times already and while he's not Slay, I didn't see a liability

McPherson is good in a pinch. He’s no Slay replacement.
September 29, 20223 yr With so much NFL parity these days, it almost comes down to who can stay the healthiest to win it all.

But if his opportunity gets here due to a Slay Injury, he'll gain game experience which is valuable for growth. Before we signed Nelson last season, McPhearson was penciled in as the CB2. Before we signed Bradberry this season, same thing. His time will come eventually. We don't yet know how that will pan out, but I'm not worried at this point.
