Everyday for the last 2 months we read something about the Eagles showing interest in so and so....Clowney, Hyde, Freeman, McCoy, and there were others too. The best fit, Hyde, they let get away, just like they handed Lamb to dallas, and gave dallas a center....anyway i guess we wait and keep hearing the same BS....Whoever we can get for $1.99 we'll sign.....Ha  Ha Many teams have improved.....

WTF are you getting on with?

So would you rather have us overpay for a guy like Hyde when we (most likely) already have a guy that can fill his role like Holyfield and/or Warren, already on the roster?

Hyde would have been an insurance policy if either Holyfield or Warren doesn’t work out.   I’m not sure you’re going to pay a premium price for an insurance policy, imo.

How did they hand Lamb to Dallas? They picked ahead of us. If the Eagles had passed on him then Dallas took him you might have a point. But that isn’t what happened.

Seattle offered more money for Hyde than we were willing to pay. It may be the same situation with Freeman too. That was always going to be the way, Howie has a figure in mind and he isn't willing to massively move away from that.

Because Atlanta was supposed to pass on the guy they wanted and take whatever we were willing to offer to move back. 31 other teams are supposed to coordinate their draft with how we want to maneuver around the board.

Yeah I don’t understand how people don’t get this.

If a player the Eagles like drops, then teams must accept any reasonable trade offer for us to move up, regardless of their own board.

How did we hand Dallas Lamb?? You KNOW that Dallas would pick Lamb if he was there- BUT we knew he was available before Dallas picked ..Probably would have cost us our second. and WHO was our second? You guessed it a QB who runs after first read, not the best arm, can't stay in the pocket....Sure, we can let him develop for 3 years, so Why draft a development project in the second? So he can participate in 5 trick plays over the season...

I wanted Hyde too. That being said, when guys like Freeman and McCoy are still available. As well as Crowell and Miller who they could sign much later if they are checked out and healthy, signing Hyde for 4 million would have been dumb. I realize he had 1,000 yards last year, but the year before that he was signed off the scrap heap by KC and then traded to Houston in August for nothing. Veteran backup RB's are like relief pitchers and backup goalies, you never know what you will get year to year so paying big money for them isn't wise.

You do understand you are reading articles by people that really dont have inside information right? they are creating a story based off prediction. they make a living by making up stories. A rumor is just that, a rumor. They can be agents, other teams, the team itself making up false information so writers write an article to open other teams eyes on a player. Eagles have always been and will always be the top team rumored. You can only really believe 5% of it. Get use to it.

Paying attention isn’t your specialty, is it?

Oh good another thread by Nicks about 2 months late like usual, all this stuff has already been talked about already. Then he gets pissy when people trash his thread.

Literally no one said a thing about Hurts.  And many fans were shocked and upset at the Hurts pick, quit being a baby and attention ****.

There's your problem.  The reporters do. not. know. anything.  They write up guesses, speculation and rumors to get clicks.  They do it exactly for people like you, who read it and get all worked up and then upset when they don't do it.  It happens every offseason.  The Eagles were rumored to draft Manziel, sign Antonio Brown, trade for OBJ, trade for Yannick, trade Dillard, you hear all sorts of nonsense.

Yes... Save the cash. Clearly Hyde was looking for a payday (he is like a clone of the other two backs in seattle). Also dont sleep on Holyfield, he is a bruiser

He's a bruiser but isn't he also pretty damn slow? For a RB. I could be wrong there though.

no you are right, speed is not his forte, and maybe Warren has more speed with his bulk. But really we have speed already, just need a little muscle for those tough yards. No need to spend big money on such a small role. Blount was awesome a few years ago and it is always nice to have a little thunder and lightning, but I hope this offense looks a little more explosive now that wentz has weapons

I don't doubt we need a bigger back to get those hard yards but they still need to have enough juice to hit the gaps opened up otherwise the run will get stuffed pretty sharpish.
