It never happens that way though I still think 1 Bitcoin will eventually be worth at least $500k. At current prices, that's 30x more than what it's currently worth If I'm right, I'll be glad I didn't sell at $60k. The concern for me, FTX blowing up and every person you know with only a limited understanding of crypto now not liking it sure sound to me like very heavy buy signals On 11/19/2022 at 11:13 PM, mattmcginley7 said: Of course I'm doing okay. I've bought more lol I love that I buy the bottom every f'ing cycle

December 4, 20232 yr My grandpa gave me three pieces of advice before he passed away: 1) Any meal that doesn't have meat is a snack. 2) Never trust a fart 3) Don't take crypto advice from noobs who can't embed twitter links on the EMB

Guaranteeing a currency can't be debased and maximizing control over your own funds some people would argue is the exact opposite of dystopian
January 11, 20242 yr Bitcoin ETFs are trading today. Where are these things going? Is this going to be just as volatile as bitcoin? Are they going to be slow steady growers? Do they have any explosive growth potential? Or are they going to flop?

Are they going to be slow steady growers? Do they have any explosive growth potential? Or are they going to flop? ETFs will be as volatile as the underlying asset they represent. The theory is that the creation of ETFs will allow more investment by both institutional investors and retail investors, and that added liquidity will reduce volatility over time. However, this is a rather unique situation, as people have been trying to get a spot bitcoin ETF approved for nearly a decade. So the argument is most of those institutional/retail investors already found a way to trade bitcoin in the interim, so the incremental liquidity may not be that much. As an example, JPM didn't allow personal accounts to buy GBTC; I am asking what their policy on the ETFs will be. My personal opinion is that while this may lead to wider adoption, Bitcoin itself remains a highly speculative investment that will continue to be volatile. If you can't handle the volatility, I'd stay away.
January 11, 20242 yr Yeah, the fluctuations have been crazy lately. At around 9:50 this morning bitcoin was trading at $48.9K, now it's trading at $46.2K and by the time I press submit on this post that will probably be off by a few hundred bucks.

That $1.50 you set aside to invest must be on a wild ride today.
January 11, 20242 yr Buy the rumor, sell the news Btc has doubled since basically October and is time for a bit of a cooling off for a few months in my opinion.
