There will always be some value tied to it because it has reserves of wealth in nefarious circles invested into it, maybe a little extra as a collector's curiosity. But the bones are really bad when you sum up the mining, the closed circle that actually owns the bitcoins and of course the rampant unscrupulous speculation that has warped beyond recognition its real purchasing value.
