I get it but in this case Quinn has no guaranteed money left on his deal so the Eagles could walk away at any time with zero dead money.  They already have a bushel of quality draft picks so why not rent the guy for the low price of a 4th in a year when they are clearly favorites to win the whole thing?  Thanks to Hurts and his rookie deal, they have tons of cap flexibility this year and next.

Rob - they're the only undefeated team in the league and are on a SB or bust run.  They can spare a 4th round pick, especially when the team will probably be awarded compensatory picks during the offseason

I saw this somewhere else:

Even though Quinn played Monday night vs. the Patriots, he is eligible to play this weekend for the Eagles.  Monday was the final game of week 6.

His addition to the DL will have an impact beyond sacks because it's someone the opposing offense has to be aware of. He doesn't need to be anywhere near the 18 sack guy he was last year, if he can be a rotational guy and a get a few sacks the rest of the way it's well worth the price of 4th round pick, especially when they have so many high draft picks coming up. As for the contract and salary cap, with no guaranteed money left they can move on him from him in the offseason if they so choose without a cap penalty so this is likely a rental and help for a potential SB run. There is really nothing not to like about this move.

 

I suspect Quinn doesn't play until Texans game. He hasn't had a bye

Quinn's play will hopefully be rejuvenated, as he see's who he gets to line up with on the Iggles D-Line and play next to on Game Days.

I don't think he starts though, or gets a ton of snaps just yet. More of a rotational player. GO GET THE QB. 

Great addition to a team that is going to go for it all.

I think they want it for extensions and the Bears were willing to pay money to get a 4 instead of a 5.  That said there seems to be a lot of noise around pass catching RBs so we'll see.

Yeah, once the Browns lose another game or two, they could possibly unload a couple of players.

Definitely looking at a pass catching RB. They had interest in CMC. Hunt might be a bit complicated though. 

Just read he has faced more double teams than Nick Bosa and Micah parsons this season.

This is a good trade for the Eagles, but I don’t think I would call it a blockbuster trade.

Eagles really going for it all. This wasnt a trade to help them beat the Cowboys or 49ers or Giants. They want to beat the Chiefs or Bills.
