Michael Warren II

I keep hearing rumors concerning which available RB the Eagles are going to pickup but I gotta tell you, after viewing some Michael Warren highlights I'm happy to report the Eagles don't need another RB.

Warren is exactly what the Eagles needed, a 5'9'', 226lbs all purpose back, he can beat you between the tackles,  in the open field, receiving or with power........'m thinking feature back.

The only question the Eagles have at RB is who's going to make the team, Corey Clement or Boston Scott........I'll take Corey.

Or at least ban his rights to start topics?"

He claimed miles Sanders was a feature back and how great he was going to be then the eagles actually picked him and he turned out really good and now all of a sudden he wants another back to be the feature back. So he can say the eagles are stupid for not taking who he likes.

They actually did take who he wanted and now he is on another bandwagon

?

I don't see what's wrong with a topic about an UDFA they signed and thinking he will be a good addition.

I'm ok with them going with Warren if he impresses during any TC and preseason that there is. I'm ok with him being the #4 to start the year and see what he can do.

But Corey or Boston? No no no. Boston will be the #2. Its more a case of new FA signing or Corey, and I'm going new FA.

Agreed, and I’m not one to pass up a chance to rip on EagleVa, but I don’t see an issue with what he said here.

EagleVa, please give me something I can rip on you for next time.

I like Warren dont get me wrong but I do think we need a big back. Yea he is 228 pounds but he is a Clement and Holyfeild style player. They have the size but they are not ground and pound backs. They are cutters, they cut more towards the tackle and outside. Do they each have some inside runs? Yes but they are not the type of player who will drop down the shoulder and bring pain to the defense. Howard was that style back, Blount was that style back. I would like a back like that on the team to give the true 3 headed monster and be able to give the defense different looks and run styles.

UDFA thread, what rookies make the team thread, final roster guess thread, his signing thread in IWTETG, etc. Did you really need this "I'm happy to report" BS?

Where were the discussions about how the eagles should be looking for another rb? Oh, right... a different thread.

But he always needs to be a thread starter. For one random thought in response to other posts in other threads...

Corey v Boston Scott i would have to take Boston. He can fill that sproles role, he is healthy, plus he is a tough runner.

Scott reminds me a lot of Brian Herrien from UGA the last few years. In the last few years no backs at Georgia ran harder than Herrien and Chubb. Herrien/Scott are those little guys who patiently choose their lanes, break a surprising amount of tackles, and always keep their legs churning.

Normally I'm a fan of keeping things to existing topics and repeat topics are annoying.  But it's the slow part of the offseason, there's no news to talk about and there aren't many new topics created.  I mean I can see expressing hey there are other topics for this already but your reaction seems overly grumpy.  It's not a big deal.  And believe me, everyone knows how the OP is.  I'm actually surprised his recent topics are positive about Eagles players, so enjoy it!  :P

When they didn't make other moves at RB, I was thinking UDFA would be their answer.  Then they re-signed Clement so now you have competition and some youth as well.  Sanders emerged as a star type RB by the end of the season.  I'm not sure of Boston Scott is a one hit wonder or if he'll continue to perform like that but I would think he's a strong lock to make the roster.  With the mix at WR as well for special teams slots we'll see how many RBs they keep.  These UDFA have an opportunity but it's also a different offseason with coronavirus so they're at a disadvantage.  If they're going to make the team they have to really prove themselves.  Of course there's always practice squad with they need to tuck away 1 or 2.

PS is gonna be the key this year... for a LOT of teams

I'm a big fan of Warren as an UDFA, and I hope he impresses if there's a training camp.  If there's 1 position I trust the Eagles to find good value, it's an UDFA RB.  Last 3 years alone they've somehow found Clement, Josh Adams (I know a lot of people hated him, but he was great value for a team that was decimated at the position), and they snagged Boston Scott from NO.  Now they picked up 2 exciting RBs with different skill sets and both have a chance to make an impact.  A couple other things I like about Warren:

-The dude is the battering ram that Eagles fans so desperately desire.  Joke aside, I think his skill set is a great compliment to Miles and Boston.  If his elusiveness is for real, I honestly have no clue how he wasn't drafted.

-I am biased towards any Eagle that is selected from Cincinnati for obvious reasons.  They seem to hit the nail on the head there every time.

I really don't even see it being a battle between them. Scott makes this roster perhaps as the #2. Corey shouldn't make the roster if either Holyfield or Warren show potential.

What your missing about the 228lbs is the guy is 5'9'' tall, that's a Frank Gore/Maurice Jones-Drew type of back, they're very difficult to defend.

Aside from his stature, what makes Warren unique is his versatility, if you don't think he can do the ground and pound thing check out his 2018 highlights.

My stance on Sanders was I thought he was one of the top 2 backs coming out last year and I figured Jacobs would go first so it was a no-brainer that Sanders should have been the pick.

I like what I saw from him but he didn't always hit the hole hard, he has a little too much Le'Veon Bell in his game.

When I say feature back I'm think of that back that's on the field in the 4th when you're trying to close a game, I think Warren may better suited for that but time will tell.

Corey if healthy will get a long look to make the team.  Scott should be #2 behind Sanders.

Don't know much about Holyfield and Warren.  Between them, probably one makes the roster and one goes to PS.

What your missing is his tape. I get you watched one highlight tape and say maybe 1 or 2 runs inside but thats not what his norm is. He might have the body type but He doesnt run like Gore,/Jones-Drew. Hes not that type of back when you watch all his film. Hes more of a cutter who hits it to the outside of the tackle. He doesnt look for that contact like a Gore and Drew consistently. Like I said, I like him but him, Clement and Holyfield are the same style back.

Corey really shouldn't make this roster. If he does then it says more about lack of options to me than anything else.
