Lancaster County Libertarian Party Endorses John Padora

For 37th District State Representative

At its June regular meeting, the Lancaster County Libertarian Committee unanimously endorsed John Padora for state representative in the 37th district.

"Mr. Padora asked for our endorsement and, after a lengthy interview, our members were convinced that John Padora is the best candidate on the ballot for 37th district residents,” said LPLC Chair Shawn P. House.  "We were favorably impressed byJohn’s grasp of many issues important to the 37th, and especially by his desire to replace at least one career politician of the ‘elite ruling class.’”

Although the LPLC is fielding state representative candidates in other Lancaster County districts, it does not have a candidate running in the 37th district.  Libertarian Party candidates are required to physically gather quite a few nomination paper signatures to have their names placed on the November ballot.  The COVID-19 situation has rendered an unnecessarily difficult task virtually impossible.  Appeals to the Governor and the Pennsylvania Secretary of State have gone unanswered and an emergency lawsuit has been filed.

Tom Eckman, LPLC Secretary, observed that there is only one candidate on the ballot for approximately half the races for PA state senators and representatives.  "That’s no choice at all,” he said.  "We work hard to offer voters a unifying choice as opposed to those from the extremely divisive old parties.”

The Libertarian Party is the party of principle.  That principle is simply, "Live and let live.”  With over half a million Americans registered Libertarian, it is the largest and best alternative for those who want smaller government and more freedom.  Visit www.LP.org and www.LPPA.org and www.LPLCPA.org for more information.

Then don’t vote or run yourself.

I was happy to see Trump-sycophant Meehan turned back in favor of the incumbent Fitzpatrick in PA-01, my district. I voted for Meehan (AND Weld)

(Yeah I know it's probably shocking to some of you that I'm registered Republican. I ain't no Trump republican though.)

U.S. NEWS

Want to wax eyebrows in Pennsylvania? You have to be a good person. This 'oppressive' law says so.

Anyone with a criminal record who wants to become a cosmetologist in Pennsylvania has to first convince the government that they are a good person.

Some of the best haircuts I ever had were from unlicensed friends or friends of friends.

I will vote against Fitzpatrick this fall. While he tries to hide it, he's a Trumpbot to the core. F him.

I was ok with Mike and voted for him. I really did not like the whole "I'm giving my seat to my brother" thing though. Brian is a little weasel.

It's a great place to live and raise a family. We missed it way more than we thought when we moved away, and we jumped at the chance to move back.

Not a fan of his but I'm going to take a wild guess that his republican opponent will be considerably worse.

I actually think the reverse. I think Brian is less partisan. Though neither were mindless partisans.

I don't know who I'll vote for in November. I see no reason right now not to support Brian but I don't know much about his opponent yet.

Brian is closer to the vest. Mike had more charisma. Not that Mike could take over a room, but he was friendly and could be engaging. Brian seems less comfortable socially.

The fact that Brian has twice had to fend off challengers from Trump world and gets criticized for being too bipartisan is a good start in my mind.

Toomey is a complete PoS.

Can we get Ridge back?

Trump has demonstrably committed treason and has admitted multiple times of breaking the law. The evidence is clear. Brian voted against impeachment for political reasons. F him. He needs to be voted out. I don't care who he's running against. I've said this multiple times, and I'm going to keep saying it. Trump is a criminal and a traitor and now there's blood on his hands from covid-19 (He just doubled down yesterday on not testing anymore after the white house said he was kidding). None of this is normal. None of this is acceptable. Anyone who acts like it is, and enables the president to continue to commit crimes against the American people is complicit in Trump's crimes and treason. This isn't about politics or policies, this is about the preservation of our union.

the impeachment vote disappointed me, no doubt. but I also don't believe Brian to be a "Trump guy". I think if he had voted for impeachment, Meehan probably would be the republican nominee. yes, it was a political vote, but one that didn't change any outcomes and gives PA-01 a better shot at a rep that isn't all Trump'd up.

I get and respect your point of view. I just have a bit more tolerance for politicians weighing politics in some of their votes. I think that's an inescapable fact.

separate to this, and I don't know that it belongs here exactly but it's as good a place as any, if you're in Bucks and at all familiar with Dilly's they just posted this:
