Hmmmm do you care if the dog sheds? For the size you're looking for, I'd recommend some type of mixed breed. Like a Labradoodle. Or a Goldendoodle.

My dog is a Golden Retriever and sheds like crazy, during the Summer. Her hair is everywhere in our house and my car (I take her for daily car rides). But, she is gentle, kind, friendly, and sweet. She's a 95 pound monster of an awesome Dog. 😍

I’d love a golden retriever but yeah they are too big for us. It’ll be my partners first dog and we don’t have a huge garden so yeah something mid size will be ideal.

Brody is a labradoodle and he sheds like crazy too. And he’s strong as an ox. Very sweet dog but can be very challenging on a leash.

Oh really, he sheds??!! Huh. Pardon my ignorance then. I assumed that breed didn't shed.

Margaret is strong too. I out weigh her by 100 lbs, and she can still pull me with ease when I have her on a leash. The good news is that her leash walking skills are getting better and better. She's almost 4 years old, and getting calmer, and she listens very well.

Yes, Brody sheds like crazy. Brody never got the curls that you'd normally associate with Labradoodles. We found out later that Labradoodles tend to look more like the mom, and his mom was the Lab, so Brody does look more like a normal black Lab. It may be possible, that if the dad is the Poodle, they won't shed as much, but that's a total guess on my part. Brody actually doesn't live with me anymore, but I spent a lot of time cleaning up his dog hair after he left, and there is still some in places I haven't gotten to cleaning yet.
