Um… what?

Sarcasm. Can still remember last year the chants run the ball at the game

I'd have though running the ball could potentially help maintain drives and therefore possession.

It is a good strategy but you need to get first downs for it to work. The Eagles only had 17 first downs (not counting the penalty) the entire game and only 7 of those were rushing.  You can't extend drives if you're not on the field.

Remember at the start of last season they abandoned the run and went gun crazy, only to lose the games until they started to mix in running the ball. I hope they are not going to prematurely abandon the run again.

I think Gainwell has been slightly disappointing.

He's scored a few 5 yard TDs but he doesn't seem capable or trusted for a large number of carries or explosive plays

He got a lot of touches early this season but not any more.  Perhaps he has fallen out of favor for some reason.  No doubt we draft a back somewhere mid rounds after we acquire picks via trade downs

I have to wonder how many run calls are being changed by Hurts. In RPO's Hurts has a responsibility to hand the ball to Sanders instead of trying to run it himself all the time.

Not a fan of RPOs or running QB draws so frequently it will shorten Jalen Hurts career and it increases his chances of not being 100% healthy in the Post Season.
However it appears to work and the fans love it so it's not going away any time soon.

I'm half serious, half joking here. But, Sirianni and Steichen don't like to use Sanders in volume.

Right.

This is why I don't understand those that scoff at posts speaking of the need for a big back.

Bottom line, big backs give you a higher probability of keeping the chains moving and your opponent on the sidelines.

This becomes imperative when your defense can't stop the run worth a damn.

To be fair to them every time Sanders has been used as a bell cow, he's broken down within a few games.

We need to see more sermon. He can't be any worse than scott or gainwell can he?

The coaches on this team are stupid. How they even have the record they do amazes me. Gannon and Hey Siri are seriously stupid coaches, who quickly forget what works and what does not.

Are you kidding me? You don't think the same thing happens to every successful coach in the NFL? This is what other teams do. They figure you out, and a genius goes to stupid in 5.6 seconds. Just several weeks ago someone was asking if Siri is the next Bill Walsh. Lol. Our coaches are good enough, we just need to get back to fundamentals. Tackling, being physical.

He is not giving us much

Yeah, then u F ing adjust- IF you are a decent coach. These guys do the same thing over and over again, with nearly zero adjustments.

At least they adjust more than Andy. If the frequency of adjustment was the main criteria, Andy Reed would be the worst coach in the NFL. Which he is not.

Ok, I have things to do. A win is a win. My Eagles Xmas wish is they stop getting GASHED by the opposing offenses. That's what turns my stomach. Fix that, and I'm good.

That wasn't the case on that sequence at the goal line. Using Scott 3x's, made no sense at all. Unless they absolutely do not trust Sanders with the ball in such a crucial down, distance and time.

The soon-to-be franchise quarterback is the short-yardage back.

Think about that.
