Robert Quinn Expectations

Quinn was never the make or break piece of this football team. Seems like he no the Eagles have a mutual desire to part ways as soon as possible.  My expectations weren’t very high for a guy who came here with just one sack and then immediately restructured his deal to become a free agent after the year was up.

The guy who Mr. Peanut Head valued more than a 4th round pick.

It’s a fourth round pick… not like he traded a first or second for him.  Eagles last ten fourth round picks were:

Zech McPhearson, K’Von Wallace, Jack Driscoll, Shareef Miller, Avonte Maddox, Josh Sweat, Mack Hollins, Donnel Pumphrey, Wendell Smallwood, Halapoulivaati Vaiti

Not exactly loaded with studs. Two good players in Maddox and Sweat, and an OK player in Big V. So basically a 30% "hit” rate.

Actually a lot of good players there. Maddox. Sweat. Vaiti helped them win a  Super  Bowl. Not a terrible haul. 4th rounders are valuable... especially for a team that has a lot of holes to fill. Good round to pick up a running back, which this team may well need.

Like I said, 30% hit rate. There was just as good a chance of that fourth round pick flopping as there was of Quinn sucking. Given his history (18.5 sacks last year), it was worth the risk considering the player they would have picked with that fourth rounder was more likely to suck than to be a difference maker.
